Why do you want to work?

I have met a few musicians and singers through photography. One of them told me he started singing since his teens. He has been doing it since then full-time.

I asked him why he took up singing as a profession and I couldn't forget his reply: "Singing is good for the soul."

I work, also because of live hood. I have working for an MNC for nearly 7 years and I am going to quit soon. Why?
No career development, politics in MNC. I don't want to waste my effort over there anymore.
Now i have found a new career as a new start in another MNC, and another part-time home base job which gives me more income. Now I am satisfied.
It depends on individual what he/she want actually.

That's something very few spend time and efforts on. Since they don't, all what is left is the nagging feeling that life sucks and everybody else has more money / better life / more beautiful wife / you-name-it.

You are right on this. There are many FTs waiting to be employed. Once you quit, there will be a long queue for your position by FTs. More than 50% of the staff in the airport are FTs.

not quite true lar , now got quota one. like my company, they cannot hire FT liao, must hire SG'er.

anyway, dont let your boss bully you. now they will say something like "outside lot of people looking for jobs!", submit your resignation letter, throw at his face. i mean if your current job got no prospect and you can't move further up, it is time to move.

I been working under same company n job for 17 over yrs n going. My qualifications are low, o level, drop out from poly. Then I still ok with my job as it's IT related. Not that stress n near my house. Shift work but even I going to setup a family, current gf got to know that time with her now n future will be abnormal. If I change same line, I still might not use to it as other company might have a total different work scope. My salary n bonus still ok, so, I think I will retire from this job.

I hope I am not 'throwing cold shower' on you. Don't be contented and always evaluate you worth for the salary you are getting. Many feel that as long as they don't do anything wrong, they are safe and just continue to do what they have been doing but get pay rise each year.

Things have changed so do get yourself upgraded and be involve with more.things. Stay valuable and marketable.

It's ok. As long I did upgrade myself outside of the work, I should be ok. Like I learn new technology, s/w etc. On top of that, my job consider "safe", maybe still can last me till retirement n then, I see how things go by then. Anyway, thanks for the concern.
