Shooting film will test your photography skills in a way.
As shooting digital, we can see the results instantly. If there's anything we're unhappy about the pic, we can change the settings.

When we shoot film, you won't the results of the photo until it's being developed. ;)

It more personal when you shoot with film. There is a sense of oneness

Just the lens the black box (camera) and you.

You are in control from the selection of the film to be used to the final print. So you only got yourself to blame if you screw it up and nobody else's ass that you can kick

DSLR has it strength, but somehow one gets the feeling that it is all being manipulated by software. But frankly it getting better.

The line between film and DLSR is getting thinner. But at the end of the day.. it's all about the image captured.. what was freeze in time at the moment of the click.

Happy Shooting Bros
Cheers

Because i don't mind grainy image. I started film too inherited from my dad's spotmatic. Many members here have proven the point that shooting film will increased photography's skill, it really makes me work harder each time i get the results back. Long story short. Film=Sniper, Digital=Machine Gunner.

I think people who look at the LCD after everyshot to check their picture & shoot the same thing again to get a better picture are the ones with insecurity & low self esteem (ok, I am sterotyping:bsmilie:)
Haha Girl always do, because they hate to have silly look.

For me Film is fine, Digital is also fine, personal preference only. I like film because of its unique personality :P

My 2 cents: Film connects me back to the history of photography while digital projects you into the future of photography.

From choosing to buying the roll, thinking about what subject I want the roll for and just loading the roll puts me in the shoes of Cappa and Bresson, and when I look through the viewfinder, I can, for an instance, feel what they felt and see what they saw (even if my skills pale before them)

History to me is real, the future unknown...

History to me is real, the future unknown...

History to me is past... future to me is hope... :)

hahahaha... just a slightly different perspective... being philosophical.

Anyway, for those who wonder what's the beauty of film.. just have to borrow any working film camera, shoot a roll... get a good scan and the result is evident.

film is not like digital take can delete is like if u wanna take you must consider it

I remember when I was in Europe 10 years back, I expended 15 rolls of films for the two weeks trip. Many turn out fine, and of course some CMI. You can feel the happiness and pain when you see the film because you know many place you never go back again and the friends you meet there will not be the same.

Just like gambling or soccer betting, if you don't play with money, your adrenalin would flow as fast, but once money is involved, your heart with pump like disco beats.

So I think shooting in film makes you feel the Happiness and Pain because real money is involved in each roll of film.
