i think it is hard to ask why someone loves because love is irrational. there is no rational answer to it, unless you love someone because of money, and all the physical aspects.
Lust is blind.
Love requires you know deeper about the other party,deeper than what superficial sensual can offer.
Well,if love is blind,will you dash across the road to save someone whom you think you fell in love with when you walk into the room?
Why not? Spontaneity will give you lotsa fun. Anyway would you prefer to watch them get run over?

In all frankness,humans are selfish.
A person who love his/her spouse for 50 years is very different from that of a young adult who says he/she love their bf/gf.
One is reflected from an action,the latter?Mere words which requires almost nothing to fabricate.
Well then,if love is the greatest attestment of giving unconditionally,then that eye candy that caught your attention from across the room,that got your heart pumping and sending "I love him/her" to the brain,should be the one whom you will dash across the road to save if she were to be run over by an incoming vehicle after leaving the room 5 mins later.

wads with the young adults rant again? granted that it takes a special couple to stick together for 50years, but they were once young to begin with. for all anybody know, they could have started out lovey-dovey.
there are different stages in love too, that of young courting couples, newlyweds and so on. that i seriously think u got the so-called essence of love wrong. surviving rough patches in a relationship does not proof love is strong, there are many other factors weighing in as well, if not more than love.
love conquers all? its an exception, a rather rare exception in reality.
