What about the choice of the native people who inhabited the island since historical times before England occupied it?

I may be wrong, but there is no ''native'' on the island since the year 1519-1520 when Europeans discover the island... arrows heads
and wooden canoes had been found... but no building or structure were found, meaning no one stayed on the islands permanently. The 1st people to established a colony are from France... therefore by international standard... the French should be the native... but don't think they are complaining.

Btw... heard on BBC, Argentina is bring up the matter to the UN. Complaining that Britain is sending a brand new Destroyer to the Falklands.... with Prince William also attached as a rescue helicopter pilot.

He go there also can claim that the people there got brainwashed by English propagandas mah.

Don't be surprise if he start a thread accusing the British of selling away Christmas Island that had rightfully belonged to the self-governed state of Singapore in 1959. Why never ask the people there if they wanted to become Australian, British or Singaporean? :bsmilie:

no one is that stupid...

anyways oil may be a reason for Argentina to want the islands back. might be the same for the brits... but hey, didn't the brits have ownership since the 1800s before crude oil was widely used?

Which made the sudden 'heighten' interested to reclaim the Falkens by Argentina not seen since the 1982 War.... Questionable.

precisely. there's always a reason for everything. looking at their declining economy, Argentina might be using that as an excuse. but i doubt that they'll win.

but any thing they start might spur into WWIII. on those grounds they'll be very careful with what they do

Don't forget the covert help from USA with stingers and France with the weak point of the exocet IIRC.

France also offered their jets so that the UK pilots could practice against the same type of aircraft that the Argentineans were flying.

All this is hot air from the Argentinean PM. They will lose and they know it.

Not really "Hot Air"... more like knowing what can't be solved by force... might be solved by diplomacy. Personally... I think its a good move.

I am most impressed by the soldier. Now I know why the Brits won.
