Point noted winston, thanks for the advise.

Recording speed from a camera to a memory card has a few factors, the writing speed of the card itself and the speed the manufacturer made the camera writes at.

Is there a old compact flash? I do not know of that. Is a compact flash type II faster than a type I? Do not think it is necessary true. Sandisk Ultra II is a type I card that is way faster than a IBM/Hitachi MicroDrive, which is in type II packaging (or in another word compatible to type II slot, whichever you like to be known as).

Share with me more information that I missed out

Sorry, wus refering to the CF of the early days where it's really slow in storing image snap. As with IBM microdrive, it will be slower cos it's not memory, it's a HD inside!

I see..... interesting analyses by u guys..... anyway the largest capacity that is readily avaiable in S'pore is only 2GB for CF right? Are there 4GB cards around?

there're 4GB microdrives around.... in MP3 players at least ;p

Alan Photo has some 4GB 40X Lexar, should be slightly below $2k.

I think a 4GB CF will get you another 300D or D70.

so far I have not seen any lexar 80X CF or the new lexar 8GB CF sold in Singapore yet.
