Well written review F5user! We all need reviews like these from experienced users. I would love to contribute my share but unfortunately I have long given up commenting the Nikon vs. Canon crap. I think both systems are perfect for the job. Although I had my gripes about Nikon, I must admit that there are certain things that I like in Nikon that Canon doesn't have and vice versa. I would stop here as I think discussions like this are very "boh liao".

Buy both lor haha...

I use nikon, canon, pentax n olympus (compact) systems and i think all work well for me! :) Most of the time im too lousy for my cam... :(

I don't think Nikon's cameras are that fragile! I own the 'plastic' D70 and have used it in the rain during a recent airshow in Japan. We had varying amount of rain the whole day from a drizzle to the heavy stuff during the flying slots. No problems at all even though we were getting drenched and freezing. In fact there were lots of D70 shooters there including a Nikon staff and nobody had to stop shooting cos of the rain. Lots of other Nikons there too from the FM2 to the old Fxxx serious as well as the range of digi SLRs. Lots of Canon shooters too.
Can't seem to post pics or I'll show you some!
BTW I too have some issues about Nikon's lack of pace with Canon but I guess they are confident of what they make and have no need to keep shooting out new models every month just to flood the markets and make their statistics look good.

Hi Avatar,

Btw, is the D100 really that tough to go through high humidity situation? I mean looking at the memory card cover being so flimsy, will it end up short circuiting my camera? I really do not wish to put down my photography just because it rains.

Thanks, and regards.

To add a little! Both systems have their supporters and as long as the user is happy with what he has then that's enough. Cameras are just like buying clothes, you go with what suits you best. The man behind the shutter is more important.

Guys... this thread is near 1+ year old... and it was DUG OUT. Geddit? Let's stop before this 'war' gets out of hand :)

Aiyaaa...

it's still nice to post some unknown facts here to stun those users of one system attempting to trash the other system wat... horrr?

heee...

if come to the worse.. DUMP both NIKON AND CANON.. USE HASSY, CONTAX.. and at the worse, a MAMIYA...

:blah:

please lah, get out more often and shoot lah.

Considering the fact that i shoot for a living, urm.. ok... will go out and shoot more. =)
