Considering the fishes part, I'll take F11 over FX9. Motion stabiliser in whatever form/name is practically useless on moving objects. And that feature is one of the big sell point for the FX9. :)
However, as far as ladies are concerned, FX9 wins anytime... :bsmilie:
I myself am thinking of how to convince my missus that getting the F11 may be a better choice over the FX9.

a bit hard :bsmilie: i have yet to come across a lady who says f11 swee

kakakakaka i think so too, but am afraid co kou peh kou bu again....must bring her down one more time to see before i lay down my money;p

i got a F11 after selling my FZ20, i think i will choose ISO 1600 over image stablizer...really a good performer

For me, i consider FX9 because of its size. Can bring along everyday in my bag. And the image stabilization is very important for me too coz i notice that my hands always shake when using small camera :)

As for manual control or high ISO when i need it, i will use my 20D :) so for daily bring around, FX9 is the cheapest and suit my needs the best.

As mentioned every camera has its pro and cons, so when choosing a camera, most important is choose according to your needs. Not just because people say this camera good, you get it. It may be good for him or her but not for you because of different needs and expectation.

cheers=

ya, i think i should say that I got F11 because of the ISO capability :)

yeah i chose the fx9 cos it is so small and it has great portability. Besides, the OIS is really useful too!

hmmmm i think as pointed out, most people want the best bang for the buck. naturally they'll compare everything around the same price.

and LOL I've yet to know of ladies making rational choices regarding cameras. Most of them would rather pay more for a slim stylish camera than less for one that actually works better. F11 would be sadly the last thing on most ladies' lists.. LOL

now that's not a very rational comment, is that?

I won't say all, but most ladies do seem to give priorities to design, portability, ease of use, etc. They know their preferences, and they buy based on those preferences. That's being as rational as you can get.

Now you may choose a cam based on a different set of your own preferences, that's being rational too. It is all very subjective.

If you buy based on what you need, that's rational. It would be irrational to buy things based on others' preferences and even more so if you judge others' purchases based on your own perspectives.

Agree? ;)

ROFL relax dude.. it's just a joke.. from a photographer's point of view.. :)
LOL I perfectly understand how they feel. I'd rather drive a slow Ferrari then a ultra fast proton saga (At sepang, I saw before a malaysian proton saga trash a Singaporean Ferrari in a race..)

same as me.. from FZ20 to F11.

I think for those who have used Panasonic cams b4, will understand that OIS is only useful to a certain extend. ;)

instead of saying which is good, why don't we reply by saying..

I like F11/FX9 because .... (list good point)
but .... (list bad point?)

haaa

haaa

but you never start leh...

here's what i like about the f11
- natural light mode
- iso 1600 with rather acceptable noise levels
- on-demand grid
- great colors!
- great battery life - rated at 500 shots but havent got a chance to verify that. but i did get 300-350 shots and about 10 mins of video.
- the supplied power adapter works with my s3 pro! goodness knows why the s3 pro never came with one...

whats missing from the f11
- image stabilizer - as others have mentioned this is only useful if you are not able to hold the camera steady or in very low light conditions. but with the f11's iso 1600 this isnt much of a problem for me. besides..if things get really shaky you can always look for some kind of support like lamp post, table, railing, etc.
- sd card slot ;p - well this is probably personal since i already have cf and sd cards. but no big deal since i got the bundle with 1gig xd card

so there....:bsmilie:

cant comment about the fx9 since i have never used one...

Dun spread this kinda myth lah. Which prancing horse? If you are talking about those engines in the likes of 575M/430, no matter what you do to your Saga, you are still dead meat in Sepang track which is with curves and a long straight. Curves you lose out in handling, straight you just get smoked by the ponies on tap. The driver is obviously not "driving" hard enough.

BTW, no Ferrari is slow. Even the V6 2L Dino 206 which doesn't wear the prancing horse logo.

So that all S3 users will have to buy another camera and help FujiFilm increase their profits?
