My analysis:
1) Brazil : very strong team but it is very unusual that a south america team win in europe.. happen only once.
2) Argentina : good team, but difficult becos of the same reason as Brazil.
3) France: Zidane too old already. Without him their midfield don't click with the strikers, although they have top marksman like henry and trazequet.
4) Italy: very good team. strength-strong defence. Weakness-strong defence lead to the mentality that they always wanted to score once and then defend till the end. Always kena penalised heavily by such mentality, but never learn from mistake. Still likely to be out in the knock-out stages due to penalty shoot-out (they r among the worst penalty shootout team in the world, too emotional).
5) England: very good team. very strong midfield, attack weakened by absence of rooney. english defenders tend to be a bit flat and can be easily tricked by south american dribblers. Main weakness: cannot perform in major tournaments.
6) Netherland: very good players, but always fail to gel as a team. Also cannot perform at big stage.
7) Germany: weak team. Used to have solid defenders in the past but this generation of defenders are quite weak. weak strike force as well. Midfield are ok, so have to rely on this area. Strength: somehow tends to overperform in world cup, many times when they look bad on papers they still scramble into the final. Need to count on the munich midfield players and podolski..
Strange.. none of the team looked promising??
But outside these teams, other don't stand a chance. World cup is very unique, smaller teams never have a chance to have a shoot at the trophy, only traditionally strong teams.
