Okay.....

Just recce-ed Jalan Lam Sam. Enter from Lam Sam end (former CCK Road, now Bricklands Road)

The old Asia Brick factory is still virtually unchanged. The buildings there are untouched.

A short distance from Asia Brick there's kampong (I think) under demolition.

Then Lam Sam gets very narrow and wet....
A distance later it beomes 'normal'.

Saw a never ending track on the right. Strangely the track is properly paved with tar. Very narrow, like a single car's width. By coincidence, there's an elderly man coming my direction. He said the track used to lead to Bulim (Wu Lin) Cemetery. Now the KJE had cut it off at the other end and cemetery had been exhumed. Now the name 'Bulim' is history too.

Bulim was at the current junction of KJE and PIE.
From street directory, I guess the track is at least 1km long.

my goodness, haven't heard the name Bulim cemetry since don't know how long ago. only when I was doing topo duing recruit and section leader days. after that convert to armour no need topo liao.

those days PIE ends at Boon Lay / Jalan Bahar junction. Only much later was it extended with the KJE extension. Guess that was when they exhumed Bulim.

Hey, is there anything interesting, like a big or famous temple there?
Cos the Mandarin name Wu Lin is quite interesting to me.

Actually I knew of Bulim quite some time ago, from an old book which shows the locations of significant kampongs... ;D

I have to check the map but off hand I think everything (in those days ah) on the right of PIE until you reach Upper Bk Timah Road is basically kampung land. Used to be a lot of kampung girls living behind 40SAR (Keat Hong Camp). The track leading in has now turned into the MRT track. Last time that whole area including Bk Batok and old Jurong Road is all kampung, quarry etc.
