I am happy with the D100, except the RAW file's kinda big, at 9MB per piece!! Liked the D70's RAW compression. With D200, don't think the RAW file will be smaller than 9MB.

So...... will hold on to the D100 until the cam CMI, then go for D200. But one thing's for sure. I'm getting the 18-200 VR. I am NOT a PRO user. I don't need edge-to-edge sharpness, constant f/2.8, etc, etc.... My skills are really not up to par to use the so-called Trinity lenses. So, its "One-Lens-To-Rule-Them-All" for me.

Anyone wanna take over my 24-120 VR?

The RAW file got so big??? My only 5MB plus. :dunno:

That's if you shoot at compressed NEF, uncompressed NEF writes faster on the D100 and it takes about 9-10MB per file.

D70 defaults compressed NEF writing, but due to newer IO speeds, it writes faster.

Still using D100 after so long...
mainly all the pocket and bread money have gone to VR and F2.8 lens...

Thanks, I forgot about compressed RAW.

When you buying D200?

i see no need to upgrade, so i do not care too much what the d200 offers.

Now that D200 is coming, just wanna find out who is still using D100 here. Any D100 users who feel that D100 is not enough and see the need to upgrade to D200?

next time when ur skills are up to par to the [pro] lenses, u'll hav to upgrade again and probable lose $100-200 when u sell the 18-200vr

Not really.. in riskier countries, losing/robbed of a 18-200 is cheaper than losing/robbed of 17-35, 28-70 and 70-200VR.

Of course, that's if you're desperate enough to want to use a DSLR in such dangerous countries.
