Who is learning driving now?

still singaporean have the worst IHMO, cause singaporean like to stare at other driver when they cut into your lane.

my friend, this isn't poor driving skill. we have world-class everything but people.

a majority singaporeans are rude, inconsiderate and discourteous. this shows everywhere, and not just on the roads.

My test date 2 weeks later, but I'm still very confused about the road safety. Shall we share some of the most commonly made mistake?

1) Checking blindspot - check mirror and blind spot on the directions of turning
2) Check mirror when stopping car
3) Confused about checking safety during parking
a) Parellel parking - signal left when stopping and moving off. Then check blind spot on the right before reversing. Reverse halfway, need to check the front, and side mirror ( Is this right??

The rest I can't remember the rest. Anyone care to share the safety during parking?

1) While for blind spot, it is the last to check. First, check rear mirror on the direction you going to turn and then follow by the side mirror. Last, turn your head to the window of the rear door to check blind spot. Don't OVER turn as you might turn your body n in the end, turn the steering wheel.

2) Look at rear mirror and see any car tail if not wrong as you stop in a sudden, they might hit u.

3) Turn n check blind spot of the opposite direction you going to turn before checking the direction you going to turn. Confuse? ;p

4) Parallel parking, remember to check blind spot on your right side before looking at your rear. For me, I concentrate on the poles after blind spot finish checking.

Today I drive auto car. Like got a licence liao, drive so smooth without much problem. Even over take a lorry as he is driving in the center lane, haha! Not wonder so many ppl go for auto, so easy to learn, no clutch control, car also move forward. :o

I was learning auto today. Kenna road block, check behind, oncoming car. Instructor say I should go but I see the car like moving fast, I stopped.

Wait for few cars passed me, I saw a mini van coming from behind. Didn't signal out but I did. In the end, I want to move, so does he. Instructor asked me to stop but I told him my reason. He say as long they see L plate, they assume you not steady enough. But for me, I react more fast than some of those who got licence as I used to gaming in car simulation, haha! :bsmilie:

For any parking, always turn your head to check behind (not blind spot) b4 signal ....

My Instructor always tell me to check right blind spot for safety before reversing. Check during test, no minus pt. No check, might be minus, haha! :bsmilie:

Ok, finished all the lessons. Now left with reversions and test.

My weak points :

1) Dare not to cut into lanes when saw oncoming vehicles. Must clear this doubt.

2) Like to tail gate some time cause I do it in circuit as the car is slow and I standby brakes. ;p

3) Confuse during moving off slope. Signal right sometime didn't do it. :o

4) Fail to keep safe distance from cars infront. Need to judge better next time. (Too big gap also no good, other cars can cut in! :o )

Hope to go back to my manual, I able to drive in a better state as in auto. Will try to pass in a go. ;)

You will have 2 chances (for blind spot) and they will deduct thereafter up to 3 blind spot (4 points each)... quoted from the BBDC practical training book...

Do practise as much as you can. It does help. Are you in any group system ?

I have this problem when i was at your stage. Keep practising and correct your bad habits. You will drive more naturally and enjoy the sessions.

Auto is really easy if you start from manual. I remember in BBDC i tend to do much better during auto sessions- it was also more fun and easier, esp parking and turning in a junction.

Do be more cautious of route 6 (refer to the back of your practical book). :)

I do miss manual sometimes since my car is auto...

well... tailgating is really bad... and dangerous too... esp behind L plates...

any direction you are heading, you need to see it first ..

likewise for parking, once you stop or position the car, 1st thing to do is turn your head to check behind (safe to go) before you proceed to check mrrors > signal > check blindspots

Yup, route 6 seem like a killer route as got downslope, 2 X upslope at junction. BIG right turn when coming back etc... Think a lot of ppl fail this route esp during test date. Me took this route during auto, if not wrong.

Need to practise more on blind spot, low speed control etc... Practise makes prefect, hope to pass in a go. ;)

Not actually tailgating la. Is that I stop quite close lor. Next time just follow a safe distance plus stop when can see the rear wheels. :)

I can't agree more with you.The people here are rude.

Seem like after having auto lesson, I more dare to step on the gas pedal when I taking my manual lesson today. Instructor say I should keep like that all the time and during test. :D Hope to pass in a go and if possible, own a brand new car. ;p

OT :

Last night I thought of a few ideas for cars but might not be legal for some. :bsmilie:

1) A auto ticket puncher which punch the time when you been told of warden nearby. Just send sms to it and you will not been book. ;p

2) ERP card reader will beep when you off your engine if your cash card still in it. To prevent you from further lose of a window n $.

So far, only got 2. Hope some of you could contribute some ideas here, esp drivers ;)

Yes, i rem my test was route 6 and it was my first time driving under a very very heavy rain. (was flooding).....

is route 6 the one that goes to teck whye? There's slight slope downhill before turning left and then very short time for you to cut to right side to do U turn?

WOHOOOOO! I passed my first driving TEST    :sticktong

I took it at BBDC...word has it that the passing rates is currently higher than usual...cuz PROLLY the traffic police just got their June bonus.

Today training, very smooth. NO stall, parking all nice nice. Lane change ok. Really for test liao n if test also this kind of standard, shiok liao!

After driving, my NFS carbon also finish easily. :P Drift also no problem on the game.;p
