I have also read other comparison and that it is very different from the one that give you your conclusion, so it is a matter of subjective opinion.

http://www.naturephotographers.net/articles0105/dw0105-1.html

Please enjoy reading this... using a EOS 1D series. And you can let me know your opinion after reading. Someone with 17yrs in photography....

Of course, if I am selling you a DSLR.... I will make you believe that damn piece of camera is better that a Hasslebank too, even though it is not as many as 39MP!!! lol.... Just kidding.....

But for me, I am still not convinced with DSLR just yet... it is personal... so to each his own. I am sure I am entitled to my own subjective personal opinion here right? :dunno:

why is yours very different from what i shared? (its from a link provided by another CSer)
that link u gave, the author simply talks about how both digital and film are....equal in a sense..he didnt say which was better..

my example given is to show that QUALITY ( the essence of the issue ) of the image using the d30 and the provia was better on the d30...or at least according to the article the guy wrote.

I do not know.. .subjective opinion... maybe he was sponsored by cam maker so make the comment???

Anyway, me is the traditionist... film for now.... ;)

Hmm .. digital is quickly rivalling film ..

Not trying to compare digital here .. I generally still find film captures a scene more life like (personal opinion).

However, in shooting film , we are under the mercy of the people who develop photos .. If it's not the case , I'll never even consider shooting in digital :(

Right now, I am under the mercy of the people who print digital photos.

With B&W, I do everything myself.

True, but can use slide lor. Best view under lupe and lightbox.
Give you the finest detail and it's original casting. U can tell whether it's the same result if you would to make prints.

have film and digital slr but only shooting film

because film rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how about organizing a photoshoot for film cameras only? (No digital bodies allowed :))

i shoot negative and slide...
i was once ask to take photos for my friend's rom using f90x
One photographer uncle who is many years older than me ask me: u still use flim arh??
Suddenly I feel so outdated....:embrass:

but wat the hack, i dont make aliving out of photography so nevermind la....

but sooner or later ppl like us will be getting lesser and lesser.......

Don't have to feel outdated. This is not a fashion show! Its a hobby. The camera is just a tool.
