A shop that sells ewa-marine items in Singapore? The Film Equipment Gallery Pte Ltd, Sophia Road 114, Singapore 228 177, Phone No 6338 0341, http://www.feg-film.com

However, I suggest you get it directly from Australia.

hoho, of course, of course, our ancestral thread leh .. eh i thought we should have quite a lot of divers on CS, how come only a handful on UWCS ah? where's the rest???? :dunno:

Actually, there are also divers around us that we might not know.

At the new work place during lunch 2 days ago, some of us were sharing our plans for CNY. A few lucky ones are flying off, whereas I am stuck here. One chap said something about last min diving at Manado. Hey, all at the table didn't know that he was a diver. So, at the show of hand, there are 4 new kakis with c-cards. And my office is near Tuas. So, Friday night, finish work, we head up north for some weekend diving.... also can...

haha yeah lor. the community is growing steadily, last time scuba is brand as an expensive rich man sport, now its getting more affortable already.

good and bad lor..
good
usually divers will learn more about the marine system and awareness is raised lor.

bad.
some divers still throwing non-biodegradable rubbish into the sea, so if one throw its not so obvious, but if every 5 out of 10 throw.. then we'll soon be diving in junk yard.

the rubbish choke the poor creatures also..

agree, definitely. good lovells! shows that you have been thinking a lot more than just buying buying buying, kekekeke
it is not just non biodegradable rubbish, it is also the ignorance of divers of the marine environment, and not willing to learn about it, to protect what they so called like...

hiya all..
so Tioman starting in mid Feb... :)

eh i got read before i buy one ok! :p

buying is to better equip myself for a better controlled dive :P

Started with those who throw cigarette butts into the seas (and it's ashes) and the poor & cheap conditions of those dive boats in Tioman & Aur (eg peeling off paint).

Still there are those who couldn't care less and continue to put up with all these and still use their services....

So whose at fault ?

Well, Singaporean divers could only afford to pay so much for weekend dives, and to cater to the market, operators have to innovate to at least churn some profits...

Many operators and divers have urged the resort operators in Dayang and Aur to upgrade their facilities, but considering they are just charging S$200 or thereabouts for each diver for a weekend package, their profits must be pretty thin (and rem, the resorts are prob empty from Monday to Thur)

So for that almost $300 (RM600+) that we pay, where does the $100 goes to ? The transport ? Nah, can't be that expensive..... esp when we carry the tanks, wash our own gear and put up with ****ty tasting food. So who is the one occupying space on the price tag.... Anyway, this aspect of the discussion is out of topic. I will leave it as such..

talking about money!

how's everyone's ang bao collection? can pay for a tioman trip? kekekeke
