well same thing happens underwater hehe you suddenly discover you're too deep :P blame it on the beautiful underwater life.. :)

i think the rate they harvest the sharks fin, there won't be many of them daring to come and make you "the dinner" instead hehehe

yeah.. throughout my years of diving, i haven't really met more than 10~15 sharks???
:what:

none the less GONG XI FATT CHAI.!!!!!!

p/s ruthie, you dont really have to worry about swiming to shore though, during end of dives, most of us here are "pampered" divers, the boat will come and get us..... (normal south-east asian practice) :bsmilie:

i only seen one nurse shark.. ONE.. ONLY!!!!!

and according to expert, you're to likely to be attacked on the surface, as sharks confused you as a Seal(not navy Seal ah), but once they bite, they will know you're not(human have less fats then seals, where sharks prefer the fats, ops im fat :P) and let go, but the blood will make them go crazy and attempt attack again.

going down, you'll usually be donned in black and if you keep still enough they won't attack.

sharks only attack if they feel threatened or you have gone too close into their territory.

usually underwater, you only get to see the shadow of the shark swimming away from us.. we're more fearsome to them..

think the jellyfish are more dangerous then shark hahahaha

blame those stupid hollywood jaws movies, entertaining and very misleading.

There is a certain degree of truth to it actually, the first scenario was for White pointers, and it doesn't apply all species of sharks

You are absolutely right, underwater though, they seldom attack, unless provoked. There are body language that you can see/guess when they are agitated, or when you better back off, like a hunched back, swimming erratically, and "falsely" charging you... (more for grey reef sharks).

Well you are right, jellyfish inflicted deaths are higher then shark attacks one....

Ditto that on stereotyping sharks......

Sharks are definitely diminishing... my friend went to similans recently for a 4 day liveaboard and didn't even see a single shark!

More often than not, sharks turn away when they see humans underwater - and it's really difficult to get good shots of sharks!! Let's try to spread the "no sharks fin" message this year!

Happy lunar new year folks!
