about the 30m being a disappointment.

My limited experience (and still using) with this casing & u/w pix are that the best shots are done at much shallower depths. Between 5 - 20m

Perhaps there are sufficent natural light to support my shots, with and without flash, that my air dun run out so fast or that I will hit deco-mode.

Any other comments to this ?

Cheers
Agreed, photography is ALL about light!!! Hence, for non-macro shots, think its quite essential to get a a strobe. In fact, those "pro" shots in diving mags are mostly taken with TWO strobes. Save save$$$$!

Think most divers can live with the 30m limit for the S50 housing - the combo is quite a bit cheaper than the oly 5050. Blurblock, you can get more info about housings for the 10D from wetpixel.com.

BTW, OT a bit - anyone knows whether still possible to "link" images to a message? Pls PM me? Tks. I tried to post some turtle shots via deviantart but it didn't work. :(

Wonder if Beivied's back from perhentian? Beivied - saw anything nice? :D

While that is certainly true, what a waste it will be if you are seeing a hammerhead while you are at 28m and it is 5m deeper, and you can't go any closer despite having enough air and dive time just because you are worried your uw housing is only rated to 30m? (unless you intend to hide the cam in the reef and look for it later.......)

yo!!!!! i am back!!! i am alive! so is my C5050!!! hahahhaa...

finally, i pass my advance course le!!! photos ah.. i must say hor, only three dives got see things la. teh other two dives only sand and water cos skill training ma. didnt bring the camera down for night dive, where i saw a blue spotted ray, two huge cushion stars and a few nice tiny crabs and shrimps hiding in corals. must admit that not as good as i hoped lo. but oh well... saw a few cat sharks, more cushion stars, box fish, starfish, a trio of bumphead parrotfish, more parrotfish, bat fish, ultra small and cute puffer fish and jelly fish, plenty of nemos and anemone at the anemone city... will show the photos later. anyone on to go tioman!?

Cushion Stars are sometimes also called Slime Stars. When threatened, these stars are capable of excreting a thick mucus that apparently tastes very bad. The stars have a very thick but soft body, helping them earn their name

Slime Stars?

:ipuke:

Camera housing are like dive computers. They tend to be more conservative with thier depth limits then the actual depth limits.
They put the depth less, so to play safe and avoid lawsuits or complains.

C5050 have been down to 57m
S50 housing has been down to 47m
Both were not tested by me, but my cousin and friend.

anyone want to have kopi session?
say This Sat Night (if not diving)

How about Mr Bean(selegie) at 9pm?
any takers?

1)lanxx
2)

at least we can put faces to the nicks here.
wasiji? beivied? frisky? sehsuan?...?
