can elaborate more? why not worth the money?
i wouldnt save it for hantu, i would save it for a one day three dive trip off sibu islands. but subject to season also lo.
It just doesn't feel very satisfying.
Firstly, there's the length of dive - you have a full tank on your back, but they're not going to let you drain it, you're limited to 20-30 (could be mistaken) minutes at most with them politely hurrying you along most of the way.
Then there's the fact that you don't really feel like you're diving cos you're not neutrally buoyant and you're doing a moonwalk without fins. You do move around, but on yer feet, feels so awkward especially with all that weight on your waist, especially the bit where you have to leap across the top of the plexiglass tunnel - and inevitably fall gracelessly on it to the amusement of passers-by.
Then there's the rather controversial fact that I don't think anyone should patronise Underwater World Singapore, cos they're owned by Haw Par, who, surprise surprise, own a huge chain of shark fin-serving restaurants... UWS were the ones who tried to serve Seahorse Soup to guests in the past... and who take their animals directly out of the sea with little inclination towards habitat or food web preservation, and advertise this proudly with posters in the tunnel... but I shan't impose this POV on anyone, just a personal reason to avoid it.
I suppose it's good if you've always wondered what the pelts of sharks (sandpapery), morays (not advisable, they can and will bite, but they're very velvety), or dugongs (rubbery) felt like.
Oh, and Gracie the dugong is a real sweetheart. Feel really bad for her, all crunched up in a tiny cage like that. Same goes for the pink dolphins in the lagoon nearby. Poor babies.
Seriously, it's not really a dive, just an enhanced aquarium walk-through experience. If I had to put a dollar figure on it, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for it.
