well, this is "who are divers on CS" thread. you cant post anything related to uw photography on this thread and consider it not OT.

if you guys want to keep the photoshop for uw photography purposes only, please open a new thread.

diun kid me la.. you people have been here long enough. :) this is simple enough, and i dun think a detailed explanation is needed. please read the guidelines if needed.

pls guys, open a new thread for the ps workshop. thanks.

moderator, i really do NOT understand what u mean by...
"you cant post anything related to uw photography on this thread "
and "consider it not OT"
call me stupid if u must, but i do have a genuine problem understand "simple" english esp when i'm not sure if there's a typo error.

and i'm not kidding.

open new thread i will not, cuz initiator me not.
innocently i ventured with venue to offer.
(in english, siaoon, lovells, kthan, i'm interested for PS course or just plain meeting up. and i've also offered a venue for hosting such event. offer still open)

for your benefit of understanding, DTan, this Who Are Divers on CS thread is our ancestral thread before the subforum was formed, which is kept alive till today by more social chatting rather than uw photography topics, and newbies coming in to introduce themselves.

that in itself, the ps workshop is a photography topic by itself, uw or not, and should have a thread of its own. i suggested digital darkroom subforum in the first place cos thats where ps workshops should go to. however, if you guys wanna keep it to uw photography specialised, then a thread on the uw photography subforum about it will be more appropriate.

next, DTan, i did not ask you to open a new thread. if you want to continue to discuss about this workshop, then please wait for the intiator to open the new thread.

sorry if i had been not explicit enough. i should have taken care to explain every single detail. to take note the next time :)

just to add a few points, of which some of you should have observed and are complying with.

1. no buy/sell threads in UWCS, of which will be moved to Buy/Sell category. but it has to be photography related. Items like BCDs, regulators, fins, masks, snorkels, gear bags, gloves etc are not allowed to be posted for sale.

list of items which are presently regarded photography related:
strobes
torches (sometimes used instead of strobes as uw lighting)
diffusers.
uw lenses, domes, ports
underwater housing
trays
brackets
sync cords,
TTL Sensors,
Manual Sensors,
Strobe Arm systems,
Optical Fibre cords

those who feel that there are other items which assist in uw photography, please advise and we shall evaluate if it shall be allowed. the obvious photography stuff will not be in qtn, definitely.

2. discussion on UWCS
photography related - more on skills, techniques, settings etc.
equipment discussion - you may wanna see the list of photography related items above as reference.
trips organising
UWCS SEED organising
some form of OT should be ok, esp on our ancestral thread, keke... now that will never be deleted.

diving related events

we wanna keep UWCS as a photography subforum, and not towards the trend of other dive related forums.

any comments, please advise and we discuss.

as advised, i HAVE read the guidelines AGAIN.. and i think u said some form of OT should be ok, esp on the ancestral thread, which i presumed is "who are divers on CS"

which also leads me back to my previous statement of not understand what u posted about "you cant post anything related to uw photography on this thread and consider it not OT"

and i'm not asking for detailed explanation. a simple clarification would suffice.
it's not about how long we people have been here, if i do not understand, i just do not understand. i don't need to be a kindergarten graduate not to understand.

u also said "any comments, pls advise and we discuss". that's why i asked.

yar.. a simple explanation would do wonders rather than curt reply. thanks for your explanation.

so nonsense thread shd be limited to nonsense postings only. when social chatting turns up something useful, stop chatting and post in proper channels. :)
btw, previous posting was because i haven't read your explanation.

thanks for pointing that out, DTan. it was meant as a goodwill gesture of the moderators team ( i hope waisj still remembers this) at the time when the rules were set, to allow the members to maintain a certain level of social chatting, macam our own kopitam for the uw photographers.again we are not that clear on this i guess. we wish we can define explicity what is OT and what is not, but too bad we are not so capable to do so.

since there is some form of misunderstanding, can i propose that from now on, no more OT is allowed on this thread. only new uw photographers wanting to introduce themselves and members reciprocating their posts, may post on this thread.

how about like what siaoon proposed? we put it after the dive? cos after dive we need to process the photos which is underwater photos. which is very different from land photography as methods used by land photographer Might not work with the underwater photos?

if agree then we can start another thread on it mah how?

sure, this one no problem. like i said, if the ps workshop is to be underwater photography specialised, then you guys can continue to discuss about it on a new thread in this subforum lo. :)

hmmm....I also know..your place lor...

In fact,, we can go to pool first for some shooting and later have PS tutorial.

Sorry beivied, OT for this msg:

swimming pool ah??? hahahaha.... someone lemme borrow the underwater cam and a strobe leh....

actually, PS isnt powerful itself....but the user who knows how to use it is powerful.

I dont mind teaching, just that keep in mind that it will be sort of intro to the tools and demonstration of how to manipulate / enhance the images. And yeah have guest speaker will be good.

OTing on this OT thread: whoever can teach me how to reach the battery of the Vyper, PM me please.

And since I am the one who brought up the PS Course, no i will not open a new thread; but will wait for the kind lecturer ro propose a convenient time for her to teach us.

actually i do have something to add.....

1. forums need to impose certain guidelines
2. moderators are doing a thankless job
3. too much censorship sucks
4. IF IT AIN'T BROKEN, DON'T FIX IT

so unless members complain abt certain postings, y not let things be? makes yr job easier too. remember, u r not paid!

thank goodness i didn't accept Waisj's offer to takeover from him, not even with his bribe of a year's subscription of Australian Penthouse.

well, i cant really wait until members complain before i do something. especially i have assumed the role, i should take on the responsibilities rightfully and react accordingly when i deem appropriate... guess i cant please everyone, but in most situations, i try my best

i do appreciate very much for the mention of your first two points. thank you :)

*waisj.... .... you ACTUALLY tried to ask for substitute????? :sticktong *
