1st one. The mechanical chronograph watch is better value than the quazt watch.
Sad to say, TH has no resale value ... Breitling is anytime better...chronometer certified with a very reliable watch movement and practical too..in fact, when I visited the USS Nimitz 3 yrs back, one of the aviators was wearing a Breitling for flying..:dunno:

1st one much better.

2nd one seems too wimpy.

i like first one

2nd one not here not there: not elegent and not cool

i didnt do a poll cos i remember recently there's a saying that there has been too many polls?:dunno:

2nd one looks plain but at the press of buttons, you can display 2nd time zone and stop watch and other stuffs.
quite cool if you ask me.

For looks I'll go for Aquaracer (1st post) ...

For long term reliability and servicing cost savings (servicing from a competent tech for automatic chrono is nothing less than $300) I'll go for the later (Kirium Formula 1) ..

From technical point of view (personally am a watch tech) ... as long as u aint using much of that function .. dun get it ... unless u r a watch connoisseur who enjoys keeping watches (Tag Heuer no resale value ... I would advise lange or pateks for value keeping) ...

For daily using watch .. hardly would one be using their chronos (auto chronos r never as accurate in comparison to quartz) ... in due time lubricants in pivots and jewel caps will definitely dry and solidify calling in servicing ....

Mere personal comments ... no offence or affiliation to any brands mentioned above ...

Same...

as a guy in the same age group.. I kinda prefer the Aquaracer

I think Tag is just overpriced for not so great movement. There are a lot to choose from which have better movements or better designs. Tag, to me, is a fashion watch more than anything else.

For sporty watches, can take a look at the following:-

Chopard Mille Miglia,
IWC
Audemars Piguet
JLC

At least these are watch-brands rather than just fashion fashion..

if u only want Tag of these 2 ..go for #1, reason, never never spend this kind of money on battery watch. that's just me.

u want unique go for Sinn...

1st one style would last for a long time...second one is avant garde..tat wont.why dont u get a carrera or monaco..sporty yet classic.my wife got me a carrera.

Agreed, but the prices are much higher for these brands

Aficionados of timepieces go for self-powered ones. Not those powered by batteries.

I prefer the 1st one. I love my Aquaracer :)

Agree on above quote ...

Though would prefer using term 'mechanical' rather than 'self-powered' to prevent confusion ...

For certain brands often "promote" their product based on 'self-generating power' ... 'No batteries' .... 'No battery change' ... but they aint really battery-free at all ... mere use of another battery form known as capacitors (in reality .. they are rechargable batteries)

P.S. Do note that quartz based watches and mechanical watches have both their pros and cons .. and its always wiser to see which better suits your requirement and needs rather than to go with the crowd ...

Cheers

First one will definitely be a better choice. Automatic Chronos retains much better value (resale or new) than quartz one, due to the complexity and complications inside the watch.
adding to its value is the chrono function, more difficult to manufacture.

Automatic movements = works just on wrist movements. no batteries.
Quartz = battery powered. more troublesome to maintain.

For those who know about this will pick the first one. Its more worth paying for it.
If you're considering other brands, omega and fortis have very good design and some are worth paying the premium =)
