Which Third-party lens is good?

Hahah like more expensive than canon 10-22mm.
did you realize the Tokina 11-16mm is a f2.8 constant aperture zoom lens? and street price is less than $1k

and how can you say is more expensive than Canon 10-22 mm lens?

EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 USM

RRP $1349
Jun11 - CP $1022 wo/GST
Jun11 - MS $1088 w/GST
Jul11 - SLRR $1094
Aug11 - CP-M $1150 w/GST

That is correct. I am hoping that no one would mislead TS into it...

Plus... I mean, not everything (especially in photography) is to be measured solely by cost only. If a lens is good, but TS cannot afford it right now, it would be good for him/her to save up for the lens. I know a friend of mine, who saved up for many years before he got his 600mm lens... and he is happy with it because it was worth it (according to him).

Yes, of course. The Tokina 11-16mm and Canon 10-22mm have other differences beyond the price. Issues like flare control, focusing speed/sound, build, maximum aperture, focal length do have a part to play...

Hahaha oops sorry. My bad hahaha

want wide - go 10-22
want fast - go 11-16

Tokina 11-16 very expensive :(

For the performance of the 11-16, $940 is very reasonable. If you want a cheaper alternative, you can consider sigma 10-20 f4-5.6

There are plenty of tokina 11-16mm flying ard, so is sigma 10-20mm. Grabbing a 2nd hand is also a good idea.

Totally agree, they are different aperture.

I got my tokina 11-16mm local at 890 with local 2yrs warranty. No kidding.

Where did u get that lens from?

To me, the main difference between the tokina and the canon UWAs, is the barrel distortion and the flare control.
I think Canon > Tokina for these 2 aspects. The Canon produces *****ing straight lines.

I think the Only Outstanding 3rd party lens is the CZ 21mmf2.8. The rest are so-so, can be topped by first party lenses.
