You might wish to consider a used Leica M4-2 or a M4-P both are very nice camera and realiale (leica stardand) but it don't comes with a lightmeter..
It is fully mech and to me, in the long run is much more realiable than the Bessa-series cameras...
Leica M4-2/P also have very silent shutter that made Leica famous. it would cost you aound $1200-$2000 depending on how u bargain and the condition of the camera.

Was using coolpix for a while before deciding to learn film.
Finally decided to give the slr a miss and start with rangefinder.

Been scouting around and came across the bessa r/r2.
Also got some advice on paying more and getting a used leica instead of a new bessa.
Can any kind soul advice me on this?
p.s. quoted S$1,500/- for a bessa r (or r2-can't recall) with a 50mm - is this a good price??
