Which shop offers a better price and good customer service?

Just went to orient photo at sim lim square to buy a bag, meet the short hair guy, looks like china guy. I look at the bag for like 5 minits and he just stand there, until i ask how much is that bag. then he just said HAH WHAT??.. then i must repeat again. then he said in chinese, cuz im indonesian i said how much is that, then he said 135 dollar for lowerpro bag. he still stand there without asking me what you need. then i ask this one can put tripod or not. then he again said hah what?? i was like what kind of sales guy is he. The face is look like ****, then i said never mind then i go. Such a bad attitude. from Orient Photo

You were looking at the bag, so you expect him to second guess the question about price? It could have been many other reasons you were looking at the bag, how is he supposed to know what your query is until you ASK it?

And you couldn't tell by looking at the bag whether a tripod could fit in or not? Is he supposed to second guess as to which tripod you are referring to as well? You're best equipped to answer your own question really.

The short haired guy may be a little gruff, but I've never found him to be rude. And if you want more conversation, talk to Stanley: he's a very nice guy, and very knowledgeable too.

BAD REMARK ON MS COLOR AT AMK HUB

just went to MS color at AMK hub, there the service so so only.

i was asking for D90 body only, got quoted $1460. I called the other branch at blk 711 in the afternoon n they only quote me at about $1360.

but the prices compare to the other branch is quite big lor, by about $100.

Is this normal?

Or are they out to chop chop

Been to MS colour at AMK Hub n Blkk 711...

I find the people at 711 more friendly.... AMK hub give u the " Want to buy buy lor" BUt 711 will ask what's ur need n budget.
Got my Lowepro bag from 711....

Yes, they are friendly but still awaiting some response on a particular issue for me.
The Camera Workshop, had a bad experience from them, did not honor my reservations.

MS Colour Hub, not a very friendly place to be in but MS Colour 711, Jackson provides very good service. Bought a few stuff from them.
Orient Photo, good service. Know what I wanted, tested it, bought it. Good prices too.
Cathay Photo, good place to buy accessories if you can't find it elsewhere. Service is generally good.
P & G Cameras, excellent service. Andrew is easy going and always sincere.

there's got to be one time where they are fake.

fake or not, sam is polite and sincere to his customers and services are of course undisputed.

never honours their warranties or reservation, esp for reservation when someone offers them a better price.

Agreed on MS 711, Jackson & Florence. Don't bother about MS HUB, it's just strange about the disparity in service and pricing. Yes I've experienced differing prices.

Yes, Florence is good. But had bad experience with the boss's grandson. Always go to Florence.

once i called up MS Color at the main branch and was quoted the canon recommended selling price by one of those youngster. She said no further discount even if pay by cash. When i went down to florence, i got it at 10% off the RSP + some more cash discount because i pay in cash.

So bottom line is look for Florence and get her to quote you.

Paid S$1210 for it with the screen protector.The following day I went back to the same shop and enquire abt the purchase with purchase offer of SAL18250 (@ S$699).During my purchase this was ever mention. The same salesman informed me that he has misquoted me the price of the camera which should S$1299 and asked me to pay him the $99 dollar difference as this amount was deducted from his pay. I refuse and he inturn also refuse to allow me to purchase the said lens.
I am disappointed with his attitude. This is my first bad experience with Cathay.The next day I sent and email to Sony Singapore and Cathay on this matter. Sony called me within 2 hours of my email and right after that the salesman from Cathay call to apologise and inform me that he will reserve for me the lense. I accepted his apologies and bought the lense. After this I will reconsider going back again and take my money elsewhere.

Nope, she quoted me $3520 for Nikon D700 over the phone, unfortunately she denied and refused and I bought at $3555 just the body, nothing else end last year. Dont means to against anyone, just to share.
