Which Shooting Mode Do You Usually Use?

using the P-mode in my Canon camera, yet to explore the Av and Tv mode.

Aperture Priority mode most of the time. Unless I need the shutter to be lower than the minimum shutter limit when using flash.

to ssping83 and calebk, yup i get what you mean. i guess i started this thread to just get a gauge of what people are using out there, and will not just follow blindly knowing my level of experience. i think like many others, it will probably take me some time and shooting practice before i go for M.

one other question i have about metering though. calebk if you don't mind, i was looking at one of your flickr pictures about an accident, and from the exif data i realised that it was stated as 'spot metering'. how come you used spot metering for such a shot? http://www.flickr.com/photos/calebkzh/2964190382/meta/ . would it affect how the shot would come if i used evaluative instead, because i thought spot metering would only expose more of the center spot, but your shot looks to be evenly metered ... thanks!

In simple word, spot metering mean photographer able to select a particular small area for meter reading, it does not mean has to be dead center, it can change to where the focusing point is, or after taken meter reading, recompose before making an exposure.

depend on the object you want to take the picture.

Human Interest, better you put A before you shoot or you set M and measure the exposure

Landscape, usually in A but M is good also because for landscape we have more time to see and set our comera

Overall if we use M, we as a master of our camera because we can get good shooting as we want (for ex: model photography)
