Which should I get for scanning my photos? Negative scanner or normal scanner? I heard that scans from the normal scanners give better color match.

Any reasonable brands to recommend? And I don't want to burn a hole in my pocket.

erm, how big is your pocket first? mabbe can state down a budget so every1 can suggest accordingly, otherwise you'll get a lot of very different suggestions.

also, mabbe some idea of the kinda setup you have now, like gear, type of film used, what kinda photo resolution you're looking at, etc...

I'm hoping to get something below $350.

I got a HP 3570C neg scanner for sale... for you - S$200
Paid S$265 for it. warrranty unfilled. Got more than 11 months to go.
I still prefer my Canon Docu Scanner

RES: 1200x1200dpi 48 true colour
USB ver. 2
Adapter powered

PM me if you are interested. Too many scanners at home liao...

Thanks for the offer, but I was hoping for something with a higher res. Maybe at least a 2400.

Its almost impossible to purchasea 2400 dpi neg scanner from a decent brand for under $350. Did some research, the good ones are quite expensive. The Epson is one of the better flatbed neg scanners and costs around $689. For they money you are probably better off getting the benq scanwit 2720 at $600 or even the 2740 with ICE3 at $800.

Just my 2 cents worth...

Forgot to add, the picture quality from the Epson still cant match those from a dedicated scanner.
