Noticed that the Am-Pro AD-060 looks the same as the DigiHub AD-060 model. Are THEY actually the same?

My Digi babi AD60 achieve the perfect 45% at 10:30 (i.e. the knob at between 10 - 11 oclock).

However, when ever I turn on my air-con, it goes up to 48%. Yes, the dry-cabi door is shut.

I'm concern as it seem the dry-cabi is not as air-tight as it should.

Err..... well, as long as the dry cabinet stay around 45-55 % range, everything should still be ok. Anyone out there have any other suggestion ?? ;p

How do you check the accuracy of the humidity? Any brand of hydrometer?

Just get a second one from HomeFix to verify. Do note that there are slight variations (Plue minus 10% in some cases) in the readings.

If you really want to verify, you can google the 'salt' method to verify.

I know the correct range and I know everything is ok.

My question is, why did it goes up by 3% every time the air-con is turn on?

Air-con should lower the %. It's likely that Digi-cabi's dry boxes are not air-tight.

For those who dread those drycab without lights inside, you can grab one of these LED lights and stick 'em inside the drycab. Got it from SLS basement near the foodcourt for $14.90. Think it is a bit too expensive, but then no choice. If anyone find these things at a cheaper price, please let us know.

Really needed some light inside my drycab even during the day as no sunlight comes into my room. Therefore, these small battery powered LEDs are great as it helps to light up the cabinet. Currently, I still have to manually press whenever I need to access my gear. Will probably have to run some cabling work to a small microswitch that will turn on the lights whenever the door is opened.

Do you guys take out your lens when you store them in the Dry Cabi?

I usually keep my lens on, would it cause any problem?

Wow..... thxs for this idea !! I was beginning to 'keep' a small torch light inside the dry cabinet. This idea is so much better and nicer. Look very pro also. Thxs again !!

Good question...... since i also remove my lense from the camera during storage.... is there any difference ?? ;p

If your camera is dry to start with , i dun think it will make much of a diff.
The only reason why i keep them seperately is because a body with lens on takes up more space than when i keep them seperately :)

Goodness.. at that size i think it's closer to a dry cupboard instead of a cabinet. Anyhow, i just ordered my 60L digi cabi.

No more free dry box.

Hi,
By any chance, do I need to keep a dry cabinet in a closed room or is it ok to keep it in a ventilated room?
