My x-700 come with DOF preview, but not much of a use.

eh...regarding mirror lock up and D, care to explain more? Never use AF before. :dunno:

VC-grip don't need it. ;)

Also, don't need a very high speed shutter, cos' my shots are usually scenic, buildings, people, etc.

And thaks ninelives. Didn't know you still awake in the wee hour of the morning. :)

i normally sleep at 6AM :D and wake up at 4 pm :D

D actually stands for ADI

From Minolta :

ADI Flash Metering

Minolta's ADI(Advanced Distance Integration) flash metering works in combination with the Maxxum 7, D lenses, Maxxum Flash 5600HS(D) and Maxxum Flash 3600HS(D), as well as the built-in flash. When used with these flash units, the camera calculates a guide number to control TTL flash metering. This guide number is calculated according to distance from subject, ambient light and pre-flash reflectivity of the subject and the background. It allows the ADI Flash Metering System to offer optimum flash metering regardless of the background conditions or subject's reflectance characteristics.

Mirror lock up :

when I press the shutter release , the mirror will lock for 2 second before it come down again. This is to reduce vibration.

I think you continue using your camera lar. don't upgrade. unless you need something more.

eh... very hard to use MF leh. Besides, X-700 MD lens quite hard to find, and expensive too.

I think I will buy an Minolta AF SLR camera, and use my X-700 as backup.

But still don't know which model to get.

ADI sounds interesting, but not really a need.
Mirror lock up also not really a need. Guess my tripod is stable enough.

Think I am too demanding le. heh ;)

have u feel Dynax 505si, Dynax 5 before? They are very light you know? I think you won't like it. It is very small. Some people don't like small camera.

the dial control also different from x700. you might don't like the control layout. change aperture and shutter speed is different from x-700 .

You can play with it for free in Funan Center 6th floor. look for andy lee.

What's the different between Dynax 505si and Dynax 5 ? ;)

I reckon Dynax 5 will be expensive as compares to 505si right? :dunno:

eh...blame me for my stupidity. Can't really see the differences. :dunno:

Dynax 5 have some advantages over Dynax 505:
(1) Support ADI flash mode with D-type lens, it is very useful.
(2) Focusing speed is faster
(3) Focusing accuracy is maybe higher according to some reviews
...........

dynax 5 replaced dynax 505si. you won't able to buy it 1st hand.

Was waiting for your reply yesterday. But guess you went to sleep.

finally wake up eh?

Guess I will test the camera first before deciding whether to get a dynax 5 or dynax 505si.

The Dynax 5 is very good body. But the two kit lenses are not so good.

why? what's the f size?

28-80 f3.5-4.5 (I think)
75-300 f4.5-5.6

but there's a AA battery pack pack available for dynax 5 to weigh it down if you don't like it's lightness. for me I like its lightness and compactness!

just got equote, the battery pack cost $125. wow.....

and don't know why wireless remote cost 35 but wired remote cost 45? even more ex than wireless?:dunno:

Hey, is the body of the 80-300mm lens included in the Dynax 5 white in color?

I saw one outside Cathay Photo, and is very huge. White in color.

Ha,ha,ha~~
That is 80-200/2.8, the new one is S$2300. Included in the Dynax 5 kit? Just a daylight dream!
Never mind, just a kiding.

The free lens in the kit (if have) is 75-300/4.5-5.6(D). Cheap lens. Not so good.
