Which magazine would you like to shoot for?

But why is it that there are still so few Asian photographers in NG? Aren't they good enough for them? I'd rather think its because "Western eyes prefer Western photos", instead of Asian photographers not being good enougn. Heck, guys like Tay Kay Chin are even better in my book...

i personally don't think there is an "asian" or "western" photography. as long as the photographer captures the essence of the culture, then the photograph is successful. e.g. jodi cobb (ang moh woman nat geo photog) has shot a fantastic series about the hidden life of the geisha in japan.

i like his pano shots!
speaking of pano, some ppl would say that Ken Duncan is even better... but i don't think that's what Nat Geo is looking for.

I'd really like to do photojournalism, especially war photography, about the people stuck in the war, civilians and all. I believe it really gets in the hearts of all people, whether it be ang mor or asian. We all feel the same way about certain things and events, even though we come from culturally different backgrounds. Coming from an international school, i can experience the difference between a cacophony of culures and I can tell u that yes, the westerners have different cultures and approaches to life and events to us asians. The fact is that all of us will feel the same feeling of watching a child being abandoned in the middle of the battle field right? (There are always exceptions where some ignorant people will laugh at that sort of event.)

(NG does accept asians' works, you can try submitting a proposal for budget to shoot any subjects which might be of interest to them, who knows they might buy your ideas, anyone wants to work on this )
