Which Lens is Better??

Sent it to Cathay Photo for a check. The guy at Cathay said the lens probably needs to be rechip.

Notice that my Tokina AT-X270AF PRO II has some problems. When using it I notice the picture tend to be overexposed and when using flash the power of the flash would be too high on my Dynax 5D. In P mode I can fix this by setting exposure compensation at -0.6EV and flash compensation at -1.3EV. I guess I'll have to talk to the people at Cathay Photo about this problem as the lens is still under warranty.

By any chance you are shooting with ADI flash metering? turn it to preflash ttl and it cures the problem.

The Tokina ATX-270 is not a D lens, rightfully the camera should automatically fallback to TTL flash for non D lens, isn't it ?

It will over expose the picture if you are using ADI. strange but it happens.

It suppose to revert back to preflash TTL if non-D lens is used, but only happen on Minolta lenses. Other manufacturer will cause overexposure.

Just try and see how.

theres nothing wrong with the lens, just need to set the ADI on yr camera to OFF , then the flash will not overexpose like what AGETAN said.

Got lens back and tested it seems OK if I disable the ADI funtion. ANyway got the lens cleaned.

Actually they gave it back to me less than a week. I was late in the reply in the forum. They basically they clean the optical elements and contacts and return it back to me. I just turn of the ADI (like AGETAN mention)function in the P mode and everthing seems fine.
