Which lens is better than the 14-54mm?

Hi VR Man,

I am also thinking of getting either the 11-22 or the 7-14, but haha 7-14 is pretty out of my reach at the moment.

cos I'm thinking for the 11-22, it's a bit wasted as the 14-22 range is already covered by my 14-54.

Any of the oly bros here have both the lens and perhaps can give some precious opinions?

Both are excellent lenses. 11-22mm more versatile for everyday shots while the 7-14mm has no peer in the digital world. Color, contrast, sharpness and build quality.

Was the 14~54mm that obviously good? :thumbsup:

i will go back to the same place but will use the std 14-45 n see the diff...hey the dff is there is believe if not no1 will recommend and not 4geting thr diff in price.

u should sign up the natual one on 4/11..and try up 50f2 for macro. oly stuff will be there with some of the lenes..they bought only 14-54 n 8mmfe yest

Agree with you but I buying either lens to shoot at the widest angle so I guess I wouldn't be using the other focal lengths much.

So at 11mm the 7-14 is better I guess? I am just wondering if 11-22's extra 2 f-stops would come in handy in certain conditions when I create cubic VRs.

haha you are really tempting me about the 7-14

I tried 7-14 at AP once, cannot put filter,
feel very insecure if I were to bring such an expensive piece of glass out for use

I feel in the long run, 7-14 seems a better investment, at least I would have covered
the full range for my needs...

Is it true that for 11-22, there'll be distortion at the 11 end? wat about 7-14?
cos if there's distortion at 11, it kinda defeat my purpose of getting it cos I would
wanna buy it to use the widest end of it...

oooo... i think they're refering to perspective distortion.
barrel/pincushion wise, it would have like almost next to zero distortion

Given a chance, try both the 7-14 and 11-22 lens and you will see why ZD lenses are winning awards.
