Which L zoom brought you great joy?

The cheapest I find is $2400 @ mscolor for first hand. So u decide urself n see if it's worth or not.

But after using 24-70 myself, I think is not really worth the price, first hand or 2nd hand...

I am actually trying to find a general zoom, which is either tamron 24-70 vc or canon 24-70L II. Sian

Then I suggest the tamron one.. can save the extra money to buy other lens.. Haha..

True that. Shall go down to MS to try tomorrow. Using sigma 35, canon 17-40, canon 70-200 IS II now.
Guess i will just take a standard zoom for travel ba

For travel you can consider those f4 lenses as they are lighter and comes with IS. My preferred Canon lens for travel is the 24-105. They are very cheap on B&S.

any problems especially shooting in low light.
For low light, I either pump the ISO or use external flash (provided the subject distance isn't that far.)
70-200 f/4 IS
70-200 f/2.8 IS
I'm looking at both this lenses, my question is do I really need f2.8?

I presume only u know if you need the f2.8
It is a good to have.
Else you can also get a fast prime to complement your 70-200 f4 L is

Of course not, since you have to ask. Save the money and carry less weight.

if weight is the key to consider, the 70-200mm f4 is much lighter than the f2.8. if you shoot more in the day time, f4 is good enough. it is light too. since you are using the 5dm3, the iso do helps you alot. but thats is my opinion. ( i am also using the 5d3+70-200 f4 L)

Thanks guys, normally I'm shooting outside so shouldn't be any issue. Probably I will rent it first before buying.

Interesting statistics... I always thought that 16-35/24-70/70-200 will get about the same stats...

Among the trinity zooms, the 16-35 is the least favoured in our survey here but it produced the highest number of "best photos" in this collection. It just shows how we are not maximizing our lenses. I was just thinking of selling my 16-35.

Hahaha... Yep! But looking at where the statistics come from, it is based on a photojournalistic sample which may be the reason why a 16-35 has a better 'hit ratio'?
