D70 and still using. Probably will wait until the video function + 24Megapixel functionality is available on DX format before making a switch.
Do you really need a 24 MP cam on DX????

The D70 was the first one to hit the market that was affordable. The D100 was a tad later but cost more. And for a long time it was the only offering from Nikon unless you have the cash to get the D1 then. The D70s did not come out till like what about 2 yrs later? So being so new and being little choice out there apart from Canon, I am sure alot of people bought this one. People are spoilt for choice today with so many models coming out at one time or within half yr apart.
i agreed with you too!

Now D2 series is more affordable then last time D1 series when the hundred/40/50/60/70/80/90 series are out.

D50!

The D40's older, fatter brother :bsmilie:

D100 is launch much earlier then D70, not later, the launch price is $3800 iirc.

during the D1 and D100 time, Nikon don't make any DX lens yet, so either get a 17~35f2.8 lens or the 18~35f3.5 lens. the flash is SB28DX at that time, than later came out SB80DX.

Nikon launches D70 together with a few DX lenses, and SB800

bought a new D50. then another second-hand D70. although so many better new products in market today, i still love them so much that i dont want to buy any other camera anymore.

Wow Nikon history 101 :bsmilie: Everyone knows so much.

I thought there were a couple of DX lenses that were released before D70's arrival. Should be the 12-24DX or 10.5 fisheye.

So according to sammy888, D70s came out 2yrs after D70? And the improvement is so minor? Really a far cry from today where brand new stuff comes every half year or so.

mind is D70 and it is still working. never even send in for servicing! going strong. lol

12~24 lens and 10.5 lens were released on 2003

D70, my switch from the other side

D70s, after several digital P&Ss.

D60, sadly the noise was absolutely disappointing.
since then, changed to a canon 40D and been with it all the way.
