That "one" lens you must have for FX

That's one lens that has a nice zoom range but I'm not going to use for FX because the MTF isn't good enough...

How abt this? pretty decent for FX, well provided if u still can find one used. :)

No~ i not referring to neither 24-85AFS nor AF, merely listing out other mid range zoom possibilites for bro lsisaxon in 28-200G man :)

I think the 18-200VR on DX might give a better picture. ;p

My preference as follows:
1st. 24-70mm f2.8 as my standard lens always attached to Nikon D700Fx
2nd. 70-200mm f2.8 VR for distance subjects to zoom in.
3rd. 14-24mm f2.8 for landscape or buildings.
4th. 105mm f2.8 AF-S VR micro lens for close-up of insects or flowers and portraits.

I am satified with the above lenses, it is enough for me to take all kinds of photoshots.
Anyway the maximum I can carry is only two lenses at a time... too heavy for me. Not forgeting my tripod as well.

If I am on a Safari trip to shoot wild animals or jungle treking to shoot birds,
then telephoto lens 500mm will be great. But I don't see myself doing that.

Happy shooting my friends....snap, snap.

24-70mm f2.8 is my standard lens for D700FX.
Is there anyone who knows how to fix a lecia lens onto D700FX.
Nikkor lens is too heavy and bulky compared to lecia lens.

The small and cute Leica lenses you have in mind are probably the Leica M lenses, for which there is no way you can use them on your Nikon DSLRs (unless you really want them to be used as glorified macro lenses).

Mounting Leica R SLR lenses is now possible, but then you would have gained NO weight nor size advantage as they are as big, if not bigger than their Nikon counterparts. Furthermore, they are heavier as they are made of metal, not plastic like a lot of Nikon lenses.

It's only cos you is using your kit lens and consumer DX lens :) That happen to cost... 1/10th the cost of the Lai Cars?

Get yourself a proper Nikon lens son :D

(Anyone other than Red Dawn: Me and him, we kinda know each other, and I'm just poking fun at him so no need to get offended)

Haha! But my 35 IS a proper Nikon lens - plastic and all :p
seriously though i did a comparison of sorts with Kit's 24-70 set to the 35mm mark - will post it up here soon. U might b surprised @ the results! :p

I'll just explain it away as lies. Cause that is what they'll be. lalalala :D

Note that this is only for Leica R lenses, not the excellent small and petite M ones....

Hmm.. bad luck then.. ;p M bodies doesn't come with a mirror box and the flange distance is much shorter. :dunno: Maybe might find an adapter for micro 4/3.

28mm f/2.8 Ai-S for me.

I vote for the 16mm fisheye, it's so daaaamn sharp, and fun to use :-)

Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR II over 6 feet will get 200mm ?

Voigtlander 20mm f3.5.....on my cam 75% of the time
