My 20mm Prime Lens.

Lightweight... on a D700... how's that? hee hee

My whole setup can fit into a small camera bag.

think TS has decided that 24-70mm is at least better than 28-70mm (based on other thread)

may not be his 1-lens that she or he can't do without for fx though

but fx for the time being still heavy (compared to my D50 at least) ... even the body without mount any lens is heavy, never mind a 20mm

Wow, there's more than one man~

Agreed with most of the bros here, tough decision to make since Nikon make som many of these fabulous lens.. i wont bear to part with my 17-35 f2.8 and 24-70 f2.8 and i lust for 85 f1.4 and 200 f2 :)

Hw right u r, didn't consider 28-70mm as 24-70 i s meant to replace it.

It's a tough one actually between this and 17-35mm f2.8

Btw, do i look like a "she" based on my photo(avatar)?

For me 35 F2. adore its flexibility and performance. it close second the 70-200vrII. try it and u will fall in love with this lens.

Majority seems to choose the 24-70. But wont it be too heavy to bring around... it weight nearly a kilo. Plus body and grip will total up to 2.5kg... How many ppl carry this set-up for travelling?

Hi, Bro, There are many宁可杀错,不可放过type of photo bugs out there, I wont be surprise if they also bring along their 14-24 2.8, 70-200, 2.8 even though they are just out for a simple asignment.(to make sure 榴莲包吃);)

Haa.. nope.. think u r the first man.. it's among one of the best ultrawides until 17-35mmf2.8come along (its replacement) :)

i do use both the 20-35 and the 17-35. i find the 17-35 brighter, quieter and perhaps a bit faster but the lack of distortion on the 20-35 is what makes it my choice. i know many might disagree with me but its just a personal preference i guess.

35 f2D doesn't even have CRC?

CRC in Nikon's term is "Close Range Correction"

thanks for the info.

the flexibility and close focus capability and size always draw me to use tis. in fact i dun get the same fun with the AFS 50mm 1.4.

If it has to be a Nikon lens (that i own), I think it will have to be my 35mm f/1.4 Ai for me (AiS too expensive...)

They should really update that f/2 lens in my opinion.
