Glad u bk to normal lol :bsmilie:

Great choice~!

I was thinking of the D3x after trying out at the cs kopi session. But looking as the 5 digit price, I think can forget about it unless I am doing this as an occupation or strike toto.

Nikkor 200-400f4 VR.

Couldn't agree better, if its nt ur profession, its really hard to justify on the huge expenditure, i rather splurge on lens, from a leisure shooter standpoint :)

Nikkor 200-400f4 VR.

Wah bro, u waan shoot safari ar?
Flirt with this piece of quality glass last year at the airsoft challenge..its freaking heavy and they didnt even supply me monopod..

Besides birds and animals, I can use it to shoot human beings uptight, sporting action and abstract composition. Those wider angle lenses like 24-70 are not that useful to me. This is why I opt for Nikkor 200-400f4 VR - my dream uptight lens for now.

 Live ur dream and start saving bro..

Last check price in HK, that one is abt $8,500-9,000:sweat:

80-400 VR nowhere near the quality? it is only 1/4 of the price of the 200-400 f4, maybe half the weight as well.

Not in the position to comment, since i haven try the 80-400 yet, but did laid my hands on the 200-400 once on my D700, i mus say the IQ,AF speed and accuracy simply "WOW" me

Can't help it but join the bandwagon...

My Nikon glasses... without it everything is a blur...:bsmilie:

DX user and i almost uses 24-70 so will prefer this range when i own a FX.

Yes and no, brother. Yes it has been purchased. No I don't have it yet.

My trip to HK is postponed to 13 Apr. Gotta wait till then to bring it home.

Swee.. Another 200f4 micro user.. so far i got 2 other CS pals also got it there

Is most's fav at the moment but can easily becomes a white elephant also
P.s. i been neglecting it ever since i got my UWA/Portrait/Micro lens :sweatsm:

I think the 24-70mm is a natural mate to FX, but my wish list is the 200mm f/2!

Tats on most wish list as well! But a wild monster to tame for it's weight n hefty price tag

Oh, tat shd be under others..

Actually i like the 50 f1.2 ais ..

Comparatively.. i think it prevails over Voigtlander 58mm f/1.4 and quite on par with Zeiss Plana ZF 50 f1.4

o.. forgot to add, it depends.. if im shooting event then it will have to be e 24-70(if i can ever afford it). but for now, all my af/zoom lenses sit in my dry cab when im shooting my own stuff. just dun like zooms n af.

my typical walk around kit for film is tokina 20-35 2.8, nikkor 50 1.2 AIs, and either vivitar 105 2.5 macro or 135mm f/2.0 ais.

for my d200, the 50 is swapped out for 35mm f2 pre ai. the 50mm eqv. focal lenght is really important to me. fits just nice. =)

havent tried the 2 other 50s you ve mentioned, but its worlds apart from the 50 1.4 ais/af-d (haven tried AF-s). dof, contrast, colour rendition, bokeh.. really special lens =)
