thanks hightone, this way, i can dont need think of 77mm(vy ex)
so now can go for 67mm hoya..
oh ya if i have a 50 1.8 ( saw this is a sharp and good lens for IR) should i use this.. bt it abit tight for my crop cam..

thanks, think i will just go wif 52mm size to test with my 50 1.8..

even though it is more expensive to get bigger filter but I will get a IR filter to fit my lens of biggest filter size.
For a simple reason, I can use a step down ring for a lens of smaller filter size but not vice versa.

if I am not wrong, that will depend on your lens, camera and subject. Nothing to do with filter.

Sometime the angle of sun ray and time of the day also play a part.

I dun encounter any hotspot with my Tokina 11-16mm.
But tt's becoz i'm using Goldie. If you are getting the R72, most likely will tio.

anw,
most of the time u'll be shooting landscape with IR. 50mm not that idea here imho.

my humble suggestion is to get the 77mm one. can get cheap one at ebay if you just wanna try it out.
differences are pretty minute. =)
