Which DC to get?

My gf wants to get a DC ... her budget is abt $500, so i suppose that shld get her a 2MP one... so i help her shortlist to a few: A40, CP775, panasonic (the one retailing for $549)...
Wondering if anyone got suggestions?
Anyway the panasonic lumix cameras sound interesting with the leica lense ... but i dunno whether to trust panasonic anot... anyone heard anyuthing abt this camera?

Interested in a Ixusv2? I'm selling mine off. I've only had the camera for 3 weeks. Selling at $600. with 64mb CF card. Plus a free `The complete idiot's guide to photography' the book's also very very new. Finished reading in 2 days...so wanna sell it off.

The cam's condition is as good as new, no scratches no lens crack, cam wasn't dropped in anyway, no damages, not even a bang on the cam. contact me if you're interested.
