Just to add a bit more details:

300F4 2 stop IS
300F2.8 2 stop IS
200F2.8 no IS
200F2 5 stop IS.

The 5 stop IS is really not so useful because that lens is so heavy that you will be using it with a tripod!

Might not be true. I tried hand holding it for half day before, not much diff from using 70-200F2.8IS. In low light concert which I typically use 2 primes is very handy.

If not too much of a birder then the 200 f2, which can still be a portrait lens and good for performances.

200f2 with tc can still do some short distance handheld birding (sunbirds, birdpark, etc). With 2xTC gives 400 f4 plus IS, much better than the 400 non-IS f5.6. Sell the 300f4 anyway.

The F2 is that much lighter than the f1.8?

Sure...ver 2 is 500g lighter I think? 5.6lb. Yeah will be interested to see the result.
