Which canon zoom lens

If $$$ and weight is not a consideration, f/4 IS and f/2.8 Mk II IS
If $$$, weight and storage is not a consideration, then f/4 IS, f/2.8 IS and a couple of primes.

MWP, I owned the f4 IS before and it was the last Canon lens I sold before I went into manual primes. Excellent and fasinating lens. I sold it because it was too big, clumsy and heavy for me.

downgrade completed. So It's f4 IS for me now. A nice balance of weight, price and performance.

Since we are talking about zoom lens here, i just like to ask the experts and pros here on whether there is a lens which is 17-200mm or 18-200mm with f2.8 or lower (e.g. 1.8, 1.4)? Is there such a configuration? Cause i check the Canon lens list, can't find such config, found a EF-S18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS which is closest but the f is 3.5 - 5.6. Please advise...

nope sadly. i tink it quite hard for e manufacurers 2 come up woth something thats f2.8 for something wide angle and a tele.

Hi, go for 17-55 f/2.8 if you have the dough, second choice will be 15-85 then.

After procrastinating whether I need this lens since I have the 35-350L, decided and bought the 70-200 2.8 IS II two weeks ago in HongKong while on a business trip. No regrets as it is so much sharper than the 35-350L lens, about the same weight and the IS is impressive.

Worth in which way????

It is useful.... and ultra wide, and depend on your usage... if you use it infrequently, it will not be worthwhile...

The IQ is good, and low distortion...... sharp if you get a sharp copy.... So the IQ is worth it....

If you are a lens collector, it is worth it as it will give you ultra wide angle....

You have to decide if it is worth for your usage.......
