well both sides have a point here and are not wrong.. blur and out of focus pictures can be taken by any camera with lousy photographic skills.. and it has already been established that there are better cameras out there than lomo in terms of lens design.. so lomo will give you good nice pics.. but they may not be as sharp in comparison to other cameras.. its the age old argument.. any camera can give you good pics.. so why are there so many people arguing about nikon canon leica etc etc.. different cameras bring about different feelings and emotions in people
someone with leica might think that only with his leica is he able to get good pics.. and he enjoys it.. that is fine.. consequently someone with nikon prolly thinks his camera is an extension of his arm.. and cant think of any other camera than his D3 on him.. the point is.. if you think you have the cash to spend on original LOMO lca and you will enjoy taking pics with it then please go ahead! you will still have a good time.. just like leicaphiles who spend thousands on a mechanical camera with 1950s technology.. however bear in mind that it is and forever will be a toycam.. and 400 dollars is a large amount to spend on a toy cam.. there are many other toycams around that may or may not give you the lomo effect.. and still allow you to tote it 'lomo' style and shoot from the hip etc etc.. albeit at a much lower cost. lomos used to be less than a hundred a couple of years back.. it has mega inflated to the state it is now thats to ingenious marketing.. but dont let that take anything away from the essence that it is.. a fun toy camera..
just to put things into perspective.. the price of a lomo lca+(made in china.. should be better than the russian counterparts.. but if you wanna save money.. get a used russian one on evilbay) can buy you a quirky styled fully mechanical german wonder called the rollei 35s as mentioned above.. but it wont be half as fun as the lca+.. that one is a thinking photographer's camera. too slow and too narrow an angle of view to shoot from the proverbial hip
