Hi,

I am undecided between the two:-

Sony SR7E/8 and JVC HD7.

The main difference I looked at is the CCD. One is a single CMOS while the other is a 3 CCD/CMOS.

Made some checks and found some uncertain answers, some say 1/2.5 CCD yields almost 0.4 and the 3x1/6CCD given a total of almost 0.4 also.
There are also some who mentioned it does not matter but the lens that allow light to go through ie F-series, F1.6 is better than most F1.8 or higher.

Some says it depends on the lux availability and the filter capabilities.

Anyone can advice me? Thank you.

Read about this link to find out more cmos chip

3 Cmos OR Chips is better than 1. Capture 3 R.G.B. nature color. lux is the main function capture in night shots. The smaller NO of lux the better night video can capture

3CMOS got better colour BUT each CMOS being smaller, may mean the low light is not as good as the bigger single CMOS. So it depends on which is more impt for ya. Personally I would go for 3CMOS cuz the lighting problem can be solved with a good light.

I'd go for JVC HD7, tricky to edit since it's MPEG2 but the images are quite impressive.
