Which 24-70mm to get?

cos TS already has the 10-22. Thus the 24-70 is the better complement. Unless TS wants to sell the 10-22 and get the 17-55 instead :bsmilie:
17-55mm... Period. Unless TS is using 7D then maybe I can still see the point of weather sealing. Other than that, I really cannot see how 24-70L is more suitable than 17-55mm on cropped body. Well of course if TS is gonna upgrade to full frame in the near future..

multi-purpose zoom?

these few came into my mind:

canon 15-85/18-200
sigma 17-70
tamron 18-270

or these to complement your 10-22:

canon 24-70L/24-105L
tamron 28-75
sigma 24-70
+1 on 15-85, which is a very good walkabout/multipurpose lens. good quality, just that the aperture is not that wide. and expensive too!

Alternatively, u can also try the VC version of Tamron 17-50 f2.8 - far more fantabulous image quality from f2.8 to f4.0 compared to the non-VC version (certain copies of that oldie could yield BAD results from f2.8 to f4.0 in terms of AF)

Unlikely that i can afford a full frame any time soon. I'm not too keen on the 17-55 as I prefer something longer? At least for me, I found 55mm not enough for me.

seriously, there is not much difference between 55mm and 70mm, whereas it's a world of difference between 17mm and 24mm. you will be grateful to have some overlap between your lenses, especially at the wider angle.

if you really want that zoom range, just go for the 18-200, else settle for one of the 17-50 variants from tamron/sigma or the canon 17-55/15-85 and add on some prime lenses later.

Thanks for all your opinion. I guess after much thought I'll rather go for a 17-50prolly the f2.8 Tammy. What's the difference between vc and non vc? Also what's a good option to consider for like something of the 100-200 range? Prime or zoom.

VC - Vibration Compensation(Tamron's version of Image Stabilisation)
Non-VC is pretty much self explanatory.

for purchase of lenses(esp primes), you have to try out different focal length to see which suits you best. and also if you prefer convenience or fast aperture. cause' for the telezoom, the max aperture is f2.8(70-200) whereas you can go down all the way to f2.0(135L/200L IS) for longer primes(hell you can still get the 200/f1.8 2nd hand). e.g 100-400 is a variable aperture lens, so yeah you gain convenience but you lose speed.

on a side note, let's just leave the 85L out of the equation for now, cause' imo it's not exactly long tele.

depends on what you want, really.

i prefer 24-70, as i mostly take pics of people, if you are taking pics of interior/landscape, go for 17-55

Well I don't think I'm looking for anything beyond the range of ~150mm for now? Cos although I do have a 75-200mm, I barely go past like beyond 120-ish mm? I guess I'll probably loan some lenses first before thinking of what to get haha.

Hi, Mah I know where to buy camon 24-70mm f/2.8 Lens, at lower price? Thanks
