Where to repair transistor radios?

No idea, the guy on the other end of the line probably not too keen to repair old radios, so he uses that as an excuse.
As far as I know, common parts (diodes, transistors, capacitors) are still available at Sim Lim Tower.

What model of radio do you have?
Does it use transistors / tubes?
It might be easier to buy again... there's a guy called wizardofoz at xtremeplace.com, you can also send him a pm.

Well, it uses transistors. Cannot get similar type of radios nowadays.

Do you have the brand, model number or at least a picture of the radio?
To you maybe it's hard to find. But it could be a pretty common item for hi-fi people.
If we know what you're looking for, we can give better advice.

If you're looking at quality radios, these days a Magnum Dynalab (pretty much the Leica of the radio world) can be had for less than $1k, so maybe that's why people are reluctant to repair the spoilt ones.

Oh I see! Those are really radio radios! Haha, pardon my misconception I was thinking more of hifi tuners, hence the Magnum Dynalab.

These will be hard to repair, especially the speaker parts if they are damaged/worn out.

You can ask Wizardofoz in Xtremeplace, he might give it a go.
But do note that he charges a fee for assessment also, so you'll need to take that into account.

Went to check out this place. They are an electrical contractor. They do not service radios.

wow, if Wiz and Memory Lane don't want to service it, I doubt you'd be able to find anyone who will.
