:) Hi all, I'm looking to rent a medium format digital to try out. Other than Shriro (for Hasselblad), where else can I rent?

Thanks :)

You could try CP . They rent their 40 million pixel Leaf camera with lens for $ 680 per working day .
Great guys there . Look for David T .

Perhaps more info like when you need it, what is your budget, what is the production and size of the final output will help. Knowing what you need n when you need it will help you to budget your cost.

Oops ....... sorry, just saw that you're just doing a try out and not for a job.

digital medium format is widely used for professional work. very hard to rent one on the cheap just to try it out.

You could however, join the Hasselblad User Group gathering every month and have a few shots.

Oh ...... you never know, if the concept is interesting enough and there is a little budget, it could still happen. There are freelance photographers with digital MF and studio in CS you know ;):bsmilie:

Useful Tip :-
Next Hasselblad Users Gathering will be on Friday 3rd September 7-9pm .
Ken Seet , H4D40 , H3DII 50 user will give Talk at Singapore Art Museum .
Model shoot ater that .
Lucky Draw is a Free weekend use of Hassel MF camera .
Only for all HUG members .
Registration starts next week after SAM confirms venue.

Hi guys,

I'm also looking for a digital MF camera rental for a possible photography job. If it pushes through, I might need it for about 10-12 days. Any recommendations would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Well you may want to consider what is the final usage before you decide which MF digital to rent as this will affect your budget and how much to quote your client.

Well, they want to use the images for billboard ads. Do you have any suggestions on which MF digital to use? It would be very much appreciated.

I assume that the images shot are going to be blown up to billboard size (meaning the main picture and not the product at one corner which may be just about 3-4 feet big)?
Than suggest that you get the higher MB digital back. You may also need to engage the service of an assistant who knows how to operate the MF digital back if you've not use it before.

Just for your info, am image shot with a 6MB Phase One MF Digital Back on the Mamiya RB67 can be blow up to 8X3 feet for a bus ad and it is still tack sharp upon close up inspection. Not sure about other brands as I've not tried them out.

Actually , all the major MF brands namely Leaf , Hasselblad and Sinar besides Phase uses ,over the years , more or less the same sensors .
Therefore the blow up capabilities are similar.
The difference would be in the lenses used for the sharpness part ,
The different capture software for moire and noise control in the shadow areas and ,
The Camera functions ( like the good autofocus in the Hasselblad H series ; the tilt shift and swing of the Sinar 4x5s and the touch screen ease of the Leaf).

Not many would rent out their MF to people they are familiar with .
You would do well to engage a qualified assistant from the Professional Assistants group.
Try contecting Zam at 98718074 or Halid at 90067388.
They will provide the guys who would rent all the equipment you will need for your shoot.
Also arrange the Studio , props , models and operate the software.
And finally pack and return all the rental equipment .
Professionally done .

They are at a high price ( mainly doing advertising ) and will deliver the job smoothly. Heard of Stills Network ? It run by Photographer Assistants in Singapore .
Professionally train to be an Assistant and provide A-Z support in Photography Industry.
From Qualified Digital Operator , 1st - 3rd Assistants ( 20+ crew ) , Lighting , Camera , Generator to Grip Truck on Location or Studio.
Supported buy Shriro , PhaseOne , Cathay Photo and PPAS.
To hire them you can try calling Zam at 98718074 as stated in shiftylens thread.:D
