I left my batt in the flash and in the dry box...
Best to remove batts from flash when not in use for long periods of time.

as well as removing batteries from cameras as well when not using the cam..
Well i don't do that though. ;p
Since you shoot often, I also dun see the point of removing. Only if I know I dun have the time to shoot for an extended period of time, then would I remove the batts.
Why can't keep flash in dry cab? The flash head can consider as an optic too.Just make sure that if you are not using it for long time, take out the battery. There is no need to keep the flash in dry cab.
If you keep using your flash often it should be ok.

Well.....i keep everything in the dry cabinet...from batt to camera to lens to hood to cards..watever camera related. Cos everything in one place easier to find mah.
Well..batt must take out..esp alkaline. I dunno if you guys have experienced it before, but if you leave batt in their devices for long, it will melt or leak after a long time thus damaging/ destroying your device. And then of cos, the batt may rust after a while. Which is why it is advisable to remove the batt.
And while the batt is in the device, the device will cont to drain power from it, thus reducing the life of the device. This not important except when you are in a third world country where charging of the batt is damn difficult.
I store mine without batts in my dry cabinet. Even the batts are inside the dry cabinet.
