I've been looking for Op/tech straps for heavy bags but I couldn't find the S.O.S strap locally. This is different from the regular bag straps available at CP and Ruby which is designed for small to medium sized bags. It has metal hooks instead of the regular plastic ones and the strap is designed for heavy duty use.

Anybody can help? Perhaps a mass order?

Have you tried Ruby Photo?

I'd be interested to get one too! ;)

/me looks @ my mountain of bags and carriers and think long and hard... hmmm...

i'm (tentatively) interested to get one too... additional support for my bigger bags (which can weigh a ton when fully loaded).

count me in for two of these man...

by the way what's the price on B&H for one of these huh? too lazy to go in and check.. might volunteer to do the MO if the cost is not too much.

hmm... guess you could ask the shops to order for you. You could try MS Color too if you stay in the North. They helped me ordered some items which they don't usually stock and at a better rate than other shops that stock them always!

I just got a quote from a HongKong OP/Tech dealer.

SOS Strap HK$140 = S$36
EMS Speed Postage HK$70 (0.5kg) = S$18
Total S$54.
(some changes due to currency exhange)

US price US$25 = S$43
Postage around US$20 - 25 = S$34 - 43
Total S$59 - 86

The SOS price from HK is quite resonable, cos the Op/tech Bag strap is selling for $30-$38 in Singapore.

I will order one from HK tommorrow, anyone care to join me?

P.S Sorry I can't wait cos I maybe leaving Spore next week, therefore need to do it fast and use the speed post.

SOS is camera strap right?

No... Cos they does not accept credit card and require me to send them a money order ( I do not have enought time as I am about to leave singapore, maybe on my next trip back to Singapore)

I found out that there's a lot of straps that comes with the laptop bags has the same springy system as Op/Tech and they are as heavy duty as S.O.S. I do not have the time to check out the price, but I believe they should be much cheaper to buy.

Any update on this? I desperately need one for my Reporter 400AW ...

i am still looking for it for my Reporter 300AW. the default strap is...painful. hehee...

I am also interested to get this....:) ...MO anyone?

i just bought a OP Tech bag strap from CP for $30. it's not the S.O.S one. Ruby photo also has. i tried to ask CP and Ruby about S.O.S bag strap but seemed they have never heard of it.

anyway for the OP Tech bag strap i bought, it's much more comfortable than the default Lowepro shoulder strap. i fully agree with what it claims that it can make you feel your bag is 50% lighter.

but the build quality of OP tech bag strap is not as good as Lowepro. far from it. the material looks a bit crappy. also the plastic hooks look not very promising. but i have managed to replace them with the metal hooks from my my Lowepro strap. :)

not sure about the quality of S.O.S one. sometimes the picture can not show the quality. you got to see the real one to know.

there's this strap that i saw at the planet traveller in marina square. the brand is victorinox and it looks really well built and is of a similar neoprene, stretchable material. but the cost is prohibitive: 49 bucks!

victorinox is known as swiss army right? that's why it's expensive.

Just bought a Bodypac brand bag stap at Sports Connection Funan.
S$3 only.

Fully padded with thick firm foam.
Similar to the Optech stap.
Only thing do not have the rubber bits for grip.

Very cheap buy.

Edpol at Funan. Shop that sells PDA accessories has a bag strap also S$25+.
That one has the rubber grip like Lowepro bags.
Not too bad.
