Do anyone knows where to get a Canon EOS 5D Kit in SG?
Or get it from overseas is cheaper? Pls advice, thanks

Try John 3:16. Not sure if they have ready stock, or whether you have to wait a day.

John 3:16 is located on the fifth floor of Funan. #05-46. Look for Sam. Very nice guy.

do you know that EOS 5D mark 2 is due for release soon?

DPreview already has the specs. Rumour is mid year. But I think probably Q3. Again, all are rumours.
That means EOS5D may be becoming even cheaper soon. Take that into consideration too.

i see, hm..actually i was considering on which to get:

1) Canon EOS 40D kit 1 + additional 28-135mm USM IS len
or
2) Canon EOS 5D + 24-105mm IS USM L len

which do u think is better? And i'm actually also confuse on the difference 35mm full frame & APS-C 1.6x crop.
Can u provide some assistance? Thanks

5D set. The 24-105L alone is better than the 18-55mm (IS / no IS) and 28-135mm together.

5D is fullframe, while the 40D is 1.6crop. That means that whatever focal length you see on the 5D is the traditional focal length of the lens ie 50mm is 50mm. However, on a 40D, the 50mm lens will become 80mm. Now, taking actually 50mm to be 'what you see', the 50mm lens on 40D will be 'zoomed in' (for the lack of a better term) by 1.6x.

I see! Cos i actually mistaken that the 1.6x crop is actually better. LOL
In the sense that it makes your focal length longer so can zoom further.

Thanks Headshotzx Bro, very detail & clear explaination. n_n
Btw i also heard that the Canon 5D Mk II is coming out soon, wonderin ghow much it'll cost. Haha

i reckon, more den 4k, less than 5k. the pricing must be placed below 1dmk3, and way higher than 40D or even the 50D coming next year.

i am also sure canon will not want to place their product in a way that its killing off either the 1dmk3 or 1dsmk3, well..... hahaha... i guess if u can wait. it could be well worth the wait. but otherwise. i felt that 5D itself is already itself a great camera. although paying something close to 3k for a 2-3year old tech sounds pretty dumb for someone who would go for the latest and greatest, but afterall its just a tool.

5D is very much a capable camera of producing seriously good pictures... so.. its a great camera. replacement of not. its already great. heh....

50D coming out soon too? Then I'll rather wait for 5D Mark II.
Haha, hope it's less than 5k for the Canon 5D Mark II Kit.

Doubt so. As it was with the 5D kit when it was released, took quite some time for it to drop below 5k.

I've got a mass order for 5D grey set. Body is $2600 and kit is 3800, if you're interested let me know.
