Where to buy Sony@55 and the 18-250 kit lens?

Yeah I got the a55+18-250+50f1.8. Freebies include 8 gb and lowepro bag. The salesman at first told me bag no stock, offered a tripod. But I told him I dun want the tripod and he managed to dig out one last piece of lowepro. Anyway the bag was so small so I sold it lol

Sorry my bad, it was $1689. Same price as u.... Hope we got the best price? Called many shops and got many equotes. And Cathay almost did not want to tell me abt their own 50f1.8 offer! Luckily I kiasu called them a few times to get a quote and everyone told me pwp for 50f1.8 is $119 except for one salesman who slipped his tongue and said they have an even better offer! So I quickly asked for another equote and specifically asked them in the equote if their 50f1.8 is $89. They replied yes.

True enough I went down and the salesman quoted me $119 for it. Luckily I had my equote as proof. He said shhhhhh dun tell anyone. I really dunno why so secretive abt their promotion???

My bundle from Cathay was a55+18250+50f1.8+8Gb+tripod (no bag already) for $1689 on last Tuesday. Yours still cheaper than mine. :bsmilie:

I used the Tamron 18-270 for my canon and i love it but it is so much bigger than sony 18-250 kit lens. Tamron is coming out with a 18-270 sony mount in feb 2010 with a new motor system that is quieter.

I am wondering, in terms of quality and performance, how is sony 18-250 compared to Tamron 18-270? Is it as fast, quality as good? it is definitely smaller than Tamron.

Sony 18-250 maybe still sharper in quality, and also faster because it has lesser blades compared to tamron and sigma, unless

Nope, that's ok. Other people got chopped by other shops for like $100
