I'm looking for this dual mono to stereo adapter to connect to my DLSR

Not exactly a beachtek or a juicedlink but may be equally effective in suppressing the AGC function on the 7D/550d. Just pipe in a constant loud tone in one channel and use the second channel for clean recording. Anyone knows where to buy or solder one locally?

I think easier to DIY... Left mono tip to stereo tip, Right mono tip to stereo ring & common ground to sleeve...be careful with the devices you connect because the 7D supplies 'mic-in-power'....don't blow the mic preamps.

So how do you intend to feed in a constant tone?

Trust me, the beachtek is much less hassle for these purposes. Easier to sync the waveforms even if you're using puraleyes especially when you do double system audio recording.

I usually record audio to my 1bit DSD field recorder and splitting the signal to feed the 7D via my Beachtek DXA5D.

UF Technology, on 3rd level of Sim Lim Square, sells many types of cables, connectors and adapters. Definitely worth taking a look there.

But I also wonder they same thing as Dixon, how will you supply the tone?

Thank you all for the valuable suggestions. I'm going to record the tone from my mixer and put that into a MP3 player. Let you guys know how it works out.

Got Shin Li at Sim Lim to solder the said adapter for me. And it was terribly noisy. Totally unusable. $20 down the tubes.

mp3 player? you might as well just record it into the cam straight. You're gonna have more artefacts expanding an mp3 recording in your editing program.
