Hi,

I would like to get an macro lens for my PT-041 with 40.5mm thread. May i know where can i get it from in Singapore?

Thanks in advance.

Try the UN lens? they come with a variety of step-up rings to be used with their 67mm threaded macro lens. Alternatively you can get those land macro lens and try. My friend has 2 pieces of 10X macro lens which is for land use. So far not much problems and the results are astounding haha. :bsmilie:

I heard there is UNCU-01 which can fit the 40.5mm thread directly, however difficult to get it from Singapore.

Btw, land use macro lens? Are you mean that your friend use the land use lens underwater?

Screw on macro lens meant for land use. just need to find the correct filter size, ie 40.5mm thread. As the lens is usually a single element design, there's not too much issue with using it underwater. It's cheap and magnification is impressive. Downside is that you get distortion in your photos.

hmmm.... do you have any pics of the setup on how to screw on a land use macro lens onto the underwater camera casing? thanks!

Nope don't have any pics. But it's the same as an underwater screw on lens. just have to find the same thread size. Also the underwater macro lens from UN, Inon, Epoque mostly use a 2 element design which reduces distortion.

Thanks howeikwok, I'm thinking of bringing my land-use Raynox DCR250 (with clip) or Opteka 10x (with 58mm screw thread) down, but can't think of how to mount it on my u/w casing. Do you think this mount will work underwater? --> http://www.mcgill.com.sg/shop/produ...d=108&osCsid=cd04a78d52fa6159c9fa5fd4e029c457

Thanks!

You can get step-up/step down adaptors from normal camera shops which should work well. Newer batches of UN macro lens include a set of 2 step-up/step-down adaptors in the package. Check back with scubacam or oceanic focus.
