Where to buy m4/3 14-150mm?

Olympus cam don't need that 14-140mm m4/3 panasonic lens.
The OIS on board the lens doesn't work on Olympus cam.
Just the Oly 14-150mm m4/3 will do.

Really? I always had the impression that you can use either the OIS or IBIS when using the 2

must be flourence76 forgot to turn one of the IS off la....

Not true....M-OIS works independently from the cam body. Just remember to turn either one of the IS off (body or lens, you choose). Lens OIS is technically better.

OIS already refer to the lens, no need to say lens OIS,anyway, its a never ending debate, which is better OIS or IBIS, more importantly is how well do they work

Stupid me! Got to slap myself here for the previous quote!
The Olympus Pen series can use the panny 14-140mm m4/3 lens provided that the OIS or the IBIS is off(Off the later one is better)
The panny 14-140mm m4/3 will respond better than the oly 14-150mm m4/3 in video mode.
So its up to anyone who wants the oly or the panny by the comparision of weight, price, durability and focusing speed.
Still the oly 14-150mm m4/3 lens is best to get from SLR Revolution(Funan Centre), if ever they have in stock.

Actually I've tested both oly and panny 14-150/14-140. Both are as good.....only difference is

Oly
- no IS
- very much cheaper
- very much lighter
- much smaller (collapsible)

Panny
- lens IS
- very ex (most if not all their lenses are much more expensive, but they are really good)
- much. Heavier
- much larger

So get the oly if
- you have a budget
- you travel lit
- you want something smaller
- you intend to only use oly body

Get panny if
- you don't mind spending more
- you got more muscles (weight is of no concern)
- size doesn't matter
- if you want to "future proof" your investment in lens (because panny has lens IS can port over to oly or panny body)

Hi,

Jus got the Olympus 14-150 from John 3:16 and tried it out against a Panny 45-200mm at a YOG soccer match . And my 2 cents worth is if you are willing to splurge for the Panny 14-140mm, go get it. Overall the Panny lens is really much better in terms of handling and picture sharpness, not to mention it does have built in IS. The Oly's outstanding points are really its lightness and its lower price (of course if you're buying it w/o the hood). The oly is a very good choice if you're looking for a casual travel lens though =)

Hi, pardon my ignorance but I've a qn that I hope you all can help clear up.

Quoting: "The Olympus Pen series can use the panny 14-140mm m4/3 lens provided that the OIS or the IBIS is off(Off the later one is better)"

Is this really true? I've the Panny 45mm-200mm lens and I've used it on my Pen1 with camera IS and lens IS both turned on and it worked.

What's the shutter speed? it may be too fast for IS to really work, try lower shutter speed with both on, one on and the other off then change, and probably there will be a difference

Oh come on. The Panasonic 14-140mm is still heck a lot lighter than comparable zooms of similar range. It's not like you are carrying shitloads.

Mind you, I went on a holiday trip in the US with the Panasonic 14-140mm, 7-14mm and the 20mm pancake all in a bag that is slightly larger than Panasonic bag. If by anything, that's the advantage of the m4/3 system when it comes to flexibility.

I paid for my 14-140mm for only 1150 SGD if I recall.

Hi, side track a little....i'm heading for a korea trip this year end....what would be a good lens combo to bring (looking at standard m43 lenses only, as in 14-42/14-45, 9-18/7-14, 17/20, 14-150/14-140)? Will be touring around korea and also ski resort. Also is EVF required in the snowy resort?

You should turn one off....if you have lens IS, use that as it is better....also if you're doing video on Oly body, the IS is disabled...so lens IS will help.

9-18 and 14-140/150 cover a a good range

Another question...is hood necessary?? What and how to use one? My lens is the 14-45 panny lens. Thx in advance.

Depends, its to reduce chances of getting lens flare, just screw it on, pretty straight forward, in the manual should have illustration, another use which is not commonly stated but has been used for is to protected the front element from hitting into objects directly and scratching it,but if you're unlucky and something hits it straight on,even a hood won't help

20 for low light and bokeh, 14-140/14-150 for the range.

I think for bright environment EVF would be useful.

Seems like nobody talked about the 45mm F2.8. Is it not good?
