Is is logical to get extended warranty for LX3?

Courts do offer some very good warranty coverage for laptops, i guess they might do the same for cameras...

I would ask myself what is the selling price in courts. As a guage, Best denki selling at $799, which is $100 more than outside. Courts's pricing should be about the same.

Regarding paying for extended warranty, i would ask myself if i am really going to use the camera much longer after the orginal warranty? For a PnS camera, most likely i will buy a newer model within 2 years. So i won't buy extended warranty for camera. For a plasma/lcd tv or Lcd monitor i will buy extended warranty.

Went down to Alan Photo Funan today. One of the middle aged sales staff there quoted me 699 including (only!) 1x 8GB SD card...I thanked him and walked out.

John 3:16 no stock.

Went to Cathay Photo at Peninsula...710 with only 1x 8GB card...bleah...

I feel like take on and off the lens cap is very trouble during traveling... anyother solution (except LC1)? I saw there are holes at the side of lens cap, what is the purpose of htat?

A black string is provided in the box for you to attach your lens cap to your camera so you can leave it dangling once you remove it for shooting. This is one issue faced by dSLR users also faced by LX3 users, no choice, lens too protruding.

Do also take note that feature like power LCD and flash use also drain the batt faster.
But cant really complain much since it is free.

Anyone know whether if the use of third party batt on LX3 is safe (ie will it spoilt the cam)?
I am not sure just asking.

I've been using the 3rd party battery for 3 months now, the life is less compared to the original but it serves well as a backup. Don't worry it won't spoil the cam.

Stocks are hard to get now, I wish I could have gotten the original casing (DMW-CLX3) when I got the chance las time. It cost only $50 additional:cry:
